At long last, Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted has arrived. As expected, there’s a whole new seasonal quest to follow through, as well as new armor sets, weapons, and a haunting atmosphere in every corner. In order to start the Destiny 2 Bound in Sorrow quest, you first need to complete a series of steps:
- Complete the introductory quest.
- You’ll appear in the HELM space — go ahead and head to the western side of the area and then down below to find the new NPC terminal.
- Grab the Artifact.
- You’ll gain access to The Leviathan Returns, as well as Bound in Sorrow.
This marks the start of the Season of the Haunted seasonal quest, as well as unlocking Vestiges of Dread, which is the seasonal currency.

All in all, the first six steps of the Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted’s Bound in Sorrow Quest quest are fairly straightforward, serving as an introduction to several aspects of the season. For starters, we’re introduced to the plotline around severing nightmares, starting with the ever-elusive but still intriguing personality of Crow.
Moreover, the quest gives you the chance to take part in the Sever activity, which is quite different from what we’ve been used to in previous seasons with Expunge or even the PsiOps Battleground playlists from Season of the Risen. For starters, it takes quite a bit of time and introduces some segments that aren’t quite common to see, such as a chase sequence that seems straight out from games like Outlast. It was pretty cool and just scary enough to keep me entertained as I searched for the terminals to manually override and open the door.

- Step 13: Eris will contact you through the Crown of Sorrow once she has formulated a new plan, and encourage you to continue to explore the Derelict Leviathan and contain its Nightmares in the meantime.

- Step 38: Return to the H.E.L.M. and debrief with Eris.
- Step 39: Eris will contact you through the Crown of Sorrow once she has formulated a new plan, and encourage you to continue to explore the Derelict Leviathan and contain its Nightmares in the meantime.
