Destiny 2: Beyond Light is almost here and Bungie is changing up how to obtain the old exotic and pinnacle/ritual weapons. With various weapons no longer obtainable via their respective quests or raids, a new system for acquiring these items has been implemented. Dubbed the “Monument to Lost Lights Exotic Archive,” you can find this glorified vending machine in the Tower near the normal vault kiosks in the center. If you are looking to pick some terrific exotic weapons or try a few old favorites in the Crucible. Here are all the exotics and legendary weapons you can earn via the Monument to Lost Lights.
Monument to Lost Lights Exotic and Legendary List

Instead of completing lengthy quests, you can obtain these firearms by purchasing them with various rare crafting materials. This includes Exotic Ciphers, Legendary Shards, and Ascendant Shards, all of which will take a bit of work to obtain. While you can purchase Ascendant Shards from Banshee-44 or by completing certain tier Nightfall: The Ordeal, this will still be your biggest grind. Ascendant Shards are notoriously rare, so expect to not have a ton saved up. As for Exotic Ciphers, you can get these by purchasing one a week from Xur or by leveling up your Season Pass. The former will be your most consistent method, so be ready to visit this mysterious vendor every Friday or Saturday for his goods.
Of the items listed, I strongly recommend avoiding the legendary weapons at first with exception of a select few which did survive sunsetting. Since their light level will not rise beyond last season’s cap, they’re only useful for old activities or basic Crucible matches. If you are going to purchase a legendary weapon, make sure to check it’s maximum Power Level by inspecting it! If it’s locked at 1060, then just leave it there for now.
Instead, focus on obtaining the different exotics since those can be infused and are quite useful for a number of builds. Anarchy and Eriana’s Vow should be your first two, as the former is an absolute monster for single target DPS. Being able to deal passive damage to an enemy while hitting them with another weapon lets you melt adversaries. Eriana’s Vow is also a terrific ranged weapon for dealing with Barrier Champions since it both hits hard and can hold a lot of Special Ammo.
