Destiny 2 Of All Trades Triumph - How to Complete This Raid Challenge

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is finally here after months and months of waiting. Acting as the next major chapter in this FPS/RPG hybrid, players will embark on a journey to Europa to battle against a Fallen leader called Eramis and learn more about the true nature of the Darkness. This expansion includes new characters, missions, endgame activities, weapons, exotics, and enemy types. Similar to previous expansions, players can attempt the new Deep Stone Crypt raid to earn loot and a new title. To obtain the latter, you’ll need to complete all the triumphs including the raid challenges. Today marks the third raid challenge’s release, which is actually much easier than I expected.

Here’s how to complete the Of All Trades raid challenge in the Deep Stone Crypt:

(Author’s Note: We will be covering this under the assumption you know how to complete the base encounter and what each role is supposed to actually do.)

Of All Trades Challenge

To complete the Of All Trades raid challenge, each player has to hold each buff (Operator, Scanner, and Suppressor) once. You have to actually complete a full phase with that buff for it to count, so you can not just pick up Scanner and put it back right away. That will not count. At first glance, this can seem pretty tricky, but Of All Trades is actually quite simple, you’ll just need to do some organizing beforehand.

When you enter the encounter you’ll want to set up a chain and have everyone select a roll on that chain. This will be what you’re tasked with when the encounter begins and it determines what you will do during the next round. So if you start the encounter as the Suppressor, when the first phase is over you’ll pass Scanner to whomever is “No Buff 3” and then you’ll take that role in the second phase. You will keep passing the buffs to the person below you in the chain. If you’re No Buff 3, you’ll just go to the top and take Operator.

Here is a simple chain to follow and how it looks during one full round change:

Round 1

  • Operator – Player 1
  • No Buff – Player 2
  • Suppressor – Player 3
  • No Buff 2 – Player 4
  • Scanner  – Player 5
  • No Buff 3 – Player 6

Round 2

  • Operator – Player 6
  • No Buff – Player 1
  • Suppressor – Player 2
  • No Buff 2 – Player 3
  • Scanner  – Player 4
  • No Buff 3 – Player 5

The key to completing this challenge is being clear with your order and communications. You always want to make sure you know what role you’re taking next. I recommend if you’re on PC, typing the role order into chat so you can always see it. For those on consoles, just open up a google doc or a note on your phone and write it down if you have trouble remembering.

To refresh, you will always be passing the buff/role to the person below you in this chain. If you are No Buff 1, you’ll be doing the Suppressor the next round and the former Suppressor will be No Buff 2. Those in the “No Buff” category should focus on clearing enemies and depositing cores. Who actually deposits the cores doesn’t matter, so don’t worry if someone dies with a core. Additionally, the best time to swap all the buffs is when Taniks deactivates an augment. You have a good 30 seconds before the next phase begins which is more than enough time to get everyone situated.

Keep passing the buffs around until you complete this challenge and unlock another raid triumph.
