Destiny 2 On My Go Guide - How to Beat the Aquisition Challenge

Savathun is finally here, which means Destiny 2’s highly anticipated expansion has been released. The Witch Queen has players finally confront one of the franchise’s most popular villains in her own throne world. Not only is this DLC introducing a new story, but there are also a ton of new weapons, armor, exotics, consumables, and activities for players to participate in. The Witch Queen also marks the release of the Void 3.0 update, which drastically reworks the void subclass and new exotics to build around.

For those looking to nab the Disciple-Slayer title in Destiny 2, you will need to complete a lot of challenges in the new Vow of the Disciple raid. While some of these are as simple as beating every encounter on the same subclass, others will require more coordination and work. One of these is “On My Go,” which is the first challenge in the Acquisition encounter. Here’s how to complete this challenge and some tips for beating it:

How to Complete On My Go

To beat On My Go, you will need to kill the Abated Adherents after they’ve started attacking your obelisk. For the unfamiliar, the Abated Adherents are the orange bar Scorn enemies with circular metal shields. They will always spawn in groups of two in each of three sections of the area, rushing toward the obelisk regardless of what you are doing. These foes will then begin blasting upwards at their obelisk, which is also the only moment you can kill them. Slaying one at any time before they attack the obelisk will cause the challenge to fail, and you’ll need to restart.

Unfortunately, you won’t be informed if the challenge fails, so it’s imperative your teammates remain vigilant about watching the Abated Adherents and killing them at the appropriate time. One of the best ways to know if an attack from an enemy has registered is the warning you’ll get in the bottom left corner of your screen (shown above). Once you see “An Obelisk is under attack,” you can kill the Adherents shooting at your stone spire.

The key to this is to not be right next to the obelisks unless it’s absolutely necessary, as the Adherents will target a player if they are in range or their line of sight. Instead, defend slightly away from the Adherents in order to bait them into attacking it right away, making your job much easier. Additionally, if Adherents spawn when you are inputting the symbols into the obelisk, do not shoot them. Killing them won’t count until the next phase starts and they begin shooting up at the obelisk once again. It’s fine if the entire encounter ends and there are still some alive. You don’t need to kill all the Adherents, but if you choose to, they need to be killed while firing at the obelisk.

I strongly recommend taking off explosive weapons or guns like Gjallarhorn or Witherhoard. These weapons can easily kill Adherents completely by accident, which can be frustrating. My team found that swords and Linear Fusion Rifles were ideal Heavy weapons, for they can swiftly kill the Unstoppable champions or Knights without risking collateral damage.

If you have an Adherent attacking you instead of an obelisk, just back away and hide behind cover. Once you get far enough, they will focus back on their job of shooting the spire, making it easy to kill them. You will also need to be a bit faster with slaying Knights since the Adherents’ damage speeds up the encounter’s insta-kill mechanic. However, if you’re quick with taking them down, they won’t make a huge dent in your obelisk’s energy meter. With some patience, you shouldn’t have too much trouble finishing this challenge — even if it’s pretty annoying at times.
