Season of the Wish is upon us in Destiny 2! With it comes a slew of new weapons to collect and a whole heaping of reissued guns as well. Naturally, that means everyone is itching to get their hands on the best possible roll. In this guide, we tell you how to obtain Retrofuturist and make some early god roll recommendations for the latest Destiny 2 shotgun.
We’ve teamed up with Stardust, one of the people behind Clarity - D2 Research, a Destiny 2 project that provides highly trusted explanations of perks, mods, and more for websites like Destiny Item Manager (DIM), Light.gg, Foundry, and more! With his extensive knowledge and experience studying weapons in depth for thousands of hours and keeping a close eye on the meta at all times at every level, he’s more than qualified to make these selections.
How to Obtain
You’ll be able to get the Retrofuturist after completing Crucible matches and challenges. Level up your rank with Lord Shaxx and you will get the Retrofuturist as a possible reward.
About Retrofuturist
The Retrofuturist is a Legendary Void shotgun that has the Lightweight Frame archetype. This means that it will feature improved handling and, when equipped, will make Guardians move faster.
Retrofuturist PVE God Roll
While the Retrofuturist is somehow more proficient in PVE, the truth is that the trait pool is far from ideal. The Barrel Shroud barrel increases its stability and handling while the Assault Mag increases its stability and rounds per minute. Auto-Loading Holster will reload the Retrofuturist while it is holstered and the Trench Barrel trait increases the weapon’s damage handling and reload speed after landing a melee hit until three shots are fired.
Best PVE Perks by Column Number
- Barrel Shroud
- Assault Mag
- Auto-Loading Holster or Feeding Frenzy
- Trench Barrel or Destabilizing Rounds
Retrofuturist PVP God Roll
We strongly recommend not using the Retrofuturist for PVP since its trait pool is better built for PVE.
