Xur is Selling a Legendary Auto Rifle With an Accuracy Masterwork

What a Xurprise

I guess Xur has been day drinking because he’s selling an auto rifle with an Accuracy masterwork. Yes, you read that right. Everyone’s favorite Destiny 2 merchant and part-time game show host is currently selling the Chrysura Melo with a masterwork it normally shouldn’t roll with. Costing some Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards, this Season of the Lost gun is one of the better 360 RPM auto rifles currently available. While it lacks stability, the weapon has remarkable range and decent impact. So it can only get better when you slap on an Accuracy masterwork right?

Well, it seems like the masterwork itself doesn’t really affect the weapon in any noticeable way. After picking it up and fully upgrading it, I genuinely cannot tell the difference between a normal Chrysura Melo and this special “variant” that Xur is offering. I assume this is because the game itself doesn’t really know how to handle a masterwork solely used for bows on an auto rifle. Unlike bows, auto rifles do not have a numerical stat dedicated solely to accuracy so this doesn’t improve anything on the gun itself.

I can only assume this is a bug and the weapon was meant to have a normal masterwork. Given Season of the Haunted has been filled with glitches this is unsurprising. There is also a very, very small chance that Bungie is trying to test a new masterwork on a gun, but I seriously doubt it. As cool as an Accuracy masterwork would be for auto rifles, it also has the potential to be devastatingly powerful.

As for the gun itself, the roll is painfully mediocre. Both Ensemble and Harmony aren’t ideal for PVE or PVP – especially since this gun can roll with perks like Fourth Time’s the Charm, Demolitionist, Outlaw, Multikill Clip, and Dynamic Sway Reduction. There’s a very good chance that whatever you have in your vault is probably better than this roll. That being said, it might be worth snagging as an oddity if Bungie doesn’t patch it. Since this gun has a functionless masterwork it’s not breaking the game and could be a fun trophy to store in your vault.

Along with Chrysura Melo, Xur is also selling Colheart, Oathkeeper, Ashen Wake, and Astrocyte Verse. Of the four exotics, only Ashen Wake has decent stat distribution with Resilience at 16 and Intellect at 14. Again, there are far better rolls you could get, but it’s serviceable.
