Burden of Guilt

Stats

Even though a vast majority of the seasonal weapons are obtained through PVE activities, there are two guns tied to Trials of Osiris. The premiere PVP mode, players can hunt down both regular and Adept versions of these firearms. Enter Burden of Guilt, a Stasis fusion rifle that’s in the Kinetic slot. Here’s how to get his gun and what the best perks are:

How to Get Burden of Guilt

Unsurprisingly, you can only get Burden of Guilt by playing Trials of Osiris. As you play through this mode you will earn points towards your Trials of Osiris rank. As these levels up, you will earn Trials of Osiris engrams which can then be focused in Saint-14’s vendor menu back in The Tower. If you’re unlucky and cannot get a Burden of Guilt to drop early, you can obtain one by hitting rank 10 with Saint-14. You can then focus all your Trials of Osiris engrams into Burdens of Guilt.

Alternatively, you can wait until the Burden of Guilt is the weekly Adept weapon and attempt to go flawless in Trials of Osiris. Winning seven matches in a row without a loss will allow you to access the Lighthouse, which rewards a piece of Adept gear. So if you want a Burden of Guilt (Adept) you will need to wait until it’s the flawless reward for that weekend.

Burden of Guilt God Rolls

Burden of Guilt PVE God Roll

  • Arrowhead Brake
  • Accelerated Coils
  • Well Rounded
  • Chill Clip or Vorpal Weapon

Before we start, if you want a great kinetic Stasis fusion rifle then you’re better off hunting for the Vow of Disciple raid’s Deliverance. Not only is it craftable, but it has a better PVE perk pool. However, if you do want to use the Burden of Guilt there is a decent roll you can grind for. In the barrel slot, I recommend Arrowhead Brake to increase the gun’s recoil control and handling, making this much easier to use. Hammer-Forged Rifling is also solid if you want to prioritize range. As for the magazine, Accelerated Coils is the perk of choice since it increases our charge time.

As for primary perks, our first slot leaves a lot to be desired. The perks here are pretty mediocre when it comes to PVE – especially when compared to other fusion rifles. That being said, I am going with Well Rounded since it’s easily triggered and benefits from players using their abilities. Given how prominent grenade and melee builds are right now, it’s pretty easy to get the maximum number of stacks. In the second slot, I recommend either Chill Clip or Vorpal Weapon. Chill Clip is a remarkably strong perk on a fusion rifle, as it allows us to just constantly slow and freezes groups of enemies. Inversely, if you want to prioritize dealing damage Vorpal Weapon is a solid option to boost this gun’s boss and Champion killing potential.

Burden of Guilt PVP God Roll

  • Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Projection Fuse
  • Perpetual Motion
  • Successful Warm-Up or High Impact Reserves

While the PVE roll isn’t terribly exciting, Burden of Guilt has a lot of potential for those taking it into the Crucible. I am prioritizing range in both the barrel and magazine slots to ensure we can secure kills from a safe distance. To accomplish this, you’ll want both Hammer-Forged Rifling and Projection Fuse, which collectively boost our range by +20.

Perpetual Motion is our first primary perk since it will temporarily increase our stability, handling, and reload stats whenever we’re moving. Given you rarely want to just be standing still in PVP, this will almost always be actively granting us some much-needed consistency. In the second slot, you have a choice between Successful Warm-Up and High Impact Reserves. The former is terrific for bigger 6v6 modes where you will be getting a lot more kills in a row, while High Impact Reserves boost our gun’s overall damage which can make a big difference in fights. Personally, I like Successful Warm-Up since it can be quite strong when combined with Perpetual Motion and our range-boosting perks.
