Season of the Witch is here in Destiny 2, and with that we’ve gotten a brand new ritual weapon called Malediction — a 120 RPM Kinetic Aggressive hand cannon. Here’s how players can obtain it, what the best perk choices are for PVE and PVP, and how to get its ritual ornament.
How to Get Malediction in Destiny 2
Players can obtain Malediction by ranking up with vendors of core playlists like Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit. Players need to get to Rank 16 to unlock this hand cannon.
Malediction Perks and God Rolls
Malediction has only one Fluted Barrel and one Flared Magwell magazine option. When it comes to perks, there are two choices in the third and fourth columns. The third column has Discord and Enlightened Action, a brand new perk. The fourth column has Harmony and Explosive Payload. The weapon does have four origin traits, one from each core playlist and a brand new origin trait called Wildcard. This origin trait states that “Final blows with this weapon have a chance to create experimental submunitions at the target's location.”
Malediction PVE God Roll
- Fluted Barrel
- Flared Magwell
- Enlightened Action
- Explosive Payload
- Masterwork: Stability
With the recent hand cannon buffs, they feel great in PVE but more damage never hurts, so perks you should be looking for are Enlightened Action and Explosive Payload. The bonus to reload speed and handling from Enlightened Action complements Explosive Payload wonderfully, and allows players to consistently damage opponents — which is key in tougher activities. Discord can be an option for Malediction in lower-tier content where players can take advantage of mowing through enemies with Malediction, and another weapon to go with it.
Malediction PVP God Roll
- Fluted Barrel
- Flared Magwell
- Enlightened Action
- Explosive Payload
- Masterwork: Stability
Malediction is a 120 RPM Kinetic hand cannon, and while hand cannons aren’t exactly meta, a strong hand cannon with Explosive Payload is a threat to be reckoned with. It sports a decent stat package geared towards handling. Considering recent zoom and range changes, it makes sense to capitalize on handling as 120 RPM hand cannons are notoriously known for having low handling. With that in mind, the best perk in the third column would be Enlightened Action because it boosts your handling. The best column in the fourth column is once again, Explosive Payload. Explosive Payload rounds deal serious flinch to opponents at the other end of them and the extra damage could give players a leg up in duels.
How to get Malediction Ritual Ornaments
Each core playlist like Vanguard, Crucible and Gambit has a bonus ornaments for Malediction that sports decals of the respective playlists. Players can unlock these ornaments by resetting their ranks at the vendors for each playlist, and getting back to Rank 16 a second time. If players want to avoid resetting ranks, players can buy these skins from the Monument to Lost Lights for Glimmer and Ascendant Shards.
