Weapon crafting has come to Destiny 2, allowing players a more consistent method of crafting god roll firearms. Once gun you can craft very early on is the Palmyra-B, which is a surprisingly potent rocket launcher., If you need a strong Heavy weapon, here is how to get this gun and what perks you’ll want on it:
How to Get Palmyra-B Guide
The Palmyra-B, much like a lot of weapons, is a world drop. This means it can be acquired by completing activities, in some world chests, and by picking up Legendary or Prime Engrams. However, this is one of the few guns that can be crafted which means you have a chance to construct the “god roll” you want. Unlike most guns tied to crafting, you can earn the Palmyra-B pattern by completing the Shaping Resonany Alloys side quest. Once you complete this quest you will unlock the pattern and can craft a Palmyra-B that you can begin leveling up. Obviously, this is the ideal way to go about earning a god roll since you can get enhanced versions of perks.
Alternatively, you can just get a good roll randomly when one drops in the world. However, this will never come with enhanced perks and you’ll be entirely reliant on RNG for this. If you are serious about obtaining a god roll of Palmyra-B, then you’ll absolutely want to just craft and level one up instead.
Palmyra-B God Rolls
Palmyra-B PVE God Roll
- Volatile Launch
- Impact Casing
- Auto-Loading Holster
- Explosive Light or Chain Reaction
If you’re looking to build a Palmyra-B, there are definitely some perks you will absolutely want. In the first slot, I am using Volatile Launch to boost our Blast Radius at the slight decrease in projectile velocity and handling. For those wanting to go all in on velocity, you’ll want to use either Smart Drift Control or Quick Launch. In the second column, the best choice is Impact Casing since it boosts our direct hit damage which is terrific against bigger targets like majors, Champions, and bosses. You can go with Black Powder if you’re all about boosting the blast radius, but I personally prefer Impact Casing on all my rocket launchers.
When it comes to the first primary perk, I am going with Auto-Loading Holster. I get a lot of people love Impulse Amplifier since it increases reload speed and velocity, however, I always find Auto Loading Holster to be a more efficient DPS (damage-per-second) option. This perk allows you to fire a rocket, swap to your secondary to fire some rounds, and then quickly switch back to Palmyra-B to fire another rocket. It’s just a very efficient method for damaging foes — especially if you plan on using this against static targets like most raid bosses. Finally, for the last perk you’ll want either Explosive Light or Chain Reaction. You’re picking the former if you’re making this specifically for single target damage, while the latter is much better for dealing with groups.
Palmyra-B PVP God Roll
- Quick Launch
- Black Powder
- Impulse Amplifier
- Adrenaline Junie
If you do want to use this weapon in the Crucible then we will be focusing almost solely on velocity and blast radius. To start, you’ll want both the Quick Launch and Black Powder perks. Quick Launch gives us that +9 to velocity, while Black Powder increases our blast radius to help us secure kills if we miss a direct hit. Though if you really want to go all in on velocity then consider the High-Velocity Rounds perk instead.
In the primary perk slots we are going with Impulse Amplifier and Adrenaline Junkie. Impulse Amplifier’s increased projectile speed just ensures that a target will have a smaller chance of dodging the rocket before it hits. Since this weapon has intrinsic tracking rounds, it can be tricky to dodge these missiles when they are launching at you with the velocity and projectile speed increase. As for Adrenaline Junkie, it’s really the only solid secondary perk for PVP outside of maybe Frenzy. Most of Palmyra-B perk pool revolves around PVE, so the chance for slightly increased damage can help us get some cheeky multi-kills.
