Trustee

Stats

Destiny 2’s newest raid is live, so it’s time to start farming this activity’s unique weapons and armor. Unlike previous raids, the Deep Stone Crypt’s weapons can roll with perks that are exclusive to this endgame encounter. This makes them not only desired by players but extremely powerful if you manage to get the right combination of perks. Scout rifles have always had a weird place in the meta, but the new Trustee could very well be a top tier weapon. Part of the Rapid-Fire Frame archetype, the Trustee is a solid choice for those looking to deal death at a distance.

Here’s how to get this weapon and what the god roll is:

How to Get Trustee

You can get the Trustee scout rifle from the first encounter in the Deep Stone Crypt raid. This is the only place the scout rifle can drop during your first time through the raid. If you manage to snag one from this boss fight, then you can also obtain it in the raid’s two secret chests. You can find the chests at the very start of the raid near the end of the Sparrow portion and about halfway through the jumping puzzle. These chests will give players a piece of loot, so long as they’ve earned it at least once during any of the four core encounters.

Finally, players can earn any piece of gear they’ve found via the new raid chest that appears after you beat the final boss. Acting as a mini-vendor, players can purchase a randomly rolled piece of loot if they have 20 or more Spoils of Victory. This new currency is earned by completing raid encounters and opening secret chests in the Deep Stone Crypt. The best part is you can earn Spoils of Victory in Garden of Salvation and Last Wish, both of which are still playable.

Trustee God Rolls

Trustee PVE God Roll

  • Fluted Barrel
  • Tactical Mag or Appended Mag
  • Outlaw or Reconstruction
  • Wellspring

For those looking for a solid PVE scout rifle, the Trustee offers some great options in its perk pool. Our first slot will be Fluted Barrel to give us increased Handling and Stability. This is great with the Rapid-Fire Frame since this weapon can used in full-auto mode. As for the second perk, both Tactical Mag and Appended Mag are great options, but I personally prefer the former. It gives us a boost to our reload speed, stability while adding a couple of extra rounds in each magazine. That being said, Appended Mag is a great alternative since there are no stat penalties for using it.

When it comes to primary perks, you’ll want either Outlaw or Reconstruction. Outlaw simply allows us to reload the gun faster which is always great with any build. Inversely, Reconstruction just feeds up ammo into the magazine while potentially doubling our magazine size. Both synergize with Wellspring, which is our second primary perk choice. Being able to get your abilities back faster has always been superb, especially on a primary weapon where you’ll rack up a lot of kills.

Trustee PVP God Roll

  • Smallbore
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Killing Wind
  • Opening Shot

When it comes to PVP, you will definitely want both Smallbore and Accurized Rounds as your first two perks. Smallbore is solid as it gives us a nice boost to range and stability, while our magazine perk is all about increasing our weapon’s range. Both of these allow us to win duels against pretty much every primary weapon archetype with ease — especially on bigger maps. You’ll also want Killing Wind to give you benefits to range, mobility, and handling after a kill. This makes Trustee extremely dangerous when taking on multiple foes who are at range, allowing you to swiftly pick them off before they can get close. Tying in with this perk is Opening Shot to give us a solid accuracy boost when we first start shooting, ensuring we always land out headshots. You can also use Wellspring to boost your ability recharge time if you’re quickly racking up kills.

Trustee may not define the PVP or PVE meta, but it’s a solid addition that any scout rifle fan will enjoy.
