Destiny 2 Game Director Will Stream on Twitch With LFG Players

Bungie already has a Twitch channel, but that doesn’t stop it from making another one.

Bungie already has a Twitch channel, but that doesn’t stop it from making another one. The developers are active on Twitter under the “Destiny 2 Team” accounts, but they have their own Twitch channel that goes by the same name.

The team tweeted that Destiny 2’s game director Joe Blackburn will play Season of the Witch content with other Guardians through LFG (looking for group) at 9 AM PDT on October 12. Season of the Witch brings new activities like Savathun’s Spire, Altars of Summoning, a new deckbuilding mechanic, Crota’s End reprised raid, The Imbaru Engine puzzles, and more secrets in Savathun’s Throne World.

Bungie uses its Twitch for showcasing major expansions and reveals, but it has been pretty quiet as of late. When Blackburn shared a video on Twitter addressing criticism towards the State of the Game blog post, he also said that Bungie will increase communication with players on platforms like Twitter and Reddit, while making the safety of its developers a priority. Blackburn also hinted that in Season 22 and Season 23, he will stream himself playing Destiny 2 to check in with the community, talk about how the community is feeling, offer opinions, and maybe even hang out with other well-known players to learn more about the game.

Comments under the Destiny 2 Team announcement show concern towards the scheduled stream and about preparing Twitch mods, knowing how toxic some players in the Destiny 2 community can be. Bungie, usually, doesn’t launch Thursday’s This Week in Destiny blog posts by 9 AM PDT, so players may or may not get the chance to ask Blackburn questions about it.
