The latest This Week in Destiny blog updated players on the upcoming Dawning 2023 event. The blog previewed the Dawning upgrades at Eva Levante, a look at the brand-new Dawning Memento and a new way to interact with the Dawning Snowballs. But the real highlight in the Dawning section was the latest weapon, Albedo Wing.
Albedo Wing is an Arc Aggressive Frame glaive. It is the second one in Destiny 2 and like the first Aggressive frame glaive, Judgement of Kelgorath, Albedo Wing also has the Hakke Breach Armaments origin trait. Hakke Breach Armaments allows weapons to deal additional damages against Vehicles and Constructs.
However, Albedo Wing has the unique Dawning Surprise origin trait too that drops a little Dawning gift. It can drop multiple gifts upon getting rapid final blows. Collecting a gift offers health, ability energy and more.
Also, Bungie revealed that this Glaive would be getting the new Beacon Rounds perk — which is only on rocket sidearms like Indebted Kindness. It revealed a list of new perks that will be added to Dawning weapons this year, essentially giving them a perk pool refresh. The perks listed are:
- Attrition Orbs: Dealing sustained damage creates an Orb of Power.
- Cold Steel: Powered Sword hits slow targets.
- Beacon Rounds: Final blows with this weapon grant your projectiles tracking. Dealing further damage extends the duration.
- Deconstruct: Dealing sustained damage grants bonus damage against vehicles and constructs and partially refills the magazine. Damage with Primary ammo or against constructs provides additional progress.Constructs include barricades, turrets, Stasis crystals, and other objects created in the field.
Bungie also clarified that Deconstruct partially refilling a magazine doesn't come from reserves but that the ammo is regenerated from thin air. Alongside that, it pointed out that Deconstruct stacks on with Hakke Breach Armaments, which would essentially offer a double bonus to damage against vehicles and constructs.
Aggressive Frame glaives hit harder than their Adaptive and Rapid Fire counterparts, which makes them extremely viable for PVE and PVP, so the Albedo Wing will be a weapon to look out for when the Dawning hits Destiny 2 on December 12.
