PSA: Don't Leave the Bonfire Bash Activity in Destiny 2 Right Away

Make sure to inspect that bonfire...

EDIT (7/20/22): You don’t have to interact with the bonfire to get your Silver Ash — it converts automatically as long as you’re wearing the Candescent armor. But be sure to stick around and confirm that you’ve gotten the ash, since it’s possible to leave before that happens.

The Solstice event is here in Destiny 2, and it’s brought back the EAZ, the unique floating island area from years past. I’ve always been a fan of the area, and I’m happy to see it back. This time around, Guardians have to complete the Bonfire Bash activity in order to burn Silver Leaves and turn them into Silver Ash. If you’re like me and don’t pay close attention to quest infodumps, you might have completed the Bonfire Bash activity once and seen zero progress on your Celebrating Solstice quest. So what’s the deal?

Well, it turns out that when you complete the Bonfire Bash, you have to then inspect the bonfire in order to 420 blaze it and light up your leaves. That is, Destiny 2 doesn’t automatically convert your Silver Leaves into Silver Ash. Also, you have to be wearing Candescent Armor to stoke convert Silver Leaves into Silver Ash. Kind of silly, but hey, I guess that’s on me for failing at reading comprehension. Regardless, if you complete a run of the activity and notice you’re still at 0/20 Silver Ash acquired, that’s probably why. So stick around after you kill the boss, grab your blues, and hit up the bonfire to get that Ash.

Stick around for the rest of our Solstice event coverage. And if you’re looking for information on Season of the Haunted, we’ve got plenty of that, too. We have guides covering how to unlock the Solar 3.0 fragments and grenades, how to get the new Jotunn catalyst, how to farm Vestiges of Dread and Opulent Umbral Energy, all Exotics, new weapon Patterns, seasonal mods, and Season of the Haunted triumphs. In addition, we’re covering all patch notes, bugs and top issues, Bound in Sorrow quest steps, and Calus Bobbleheads. We’ve covered how to get Opulent Keys, Bound Presence in Containment, Crown of Sorrow H.E.L.M. upgrades, Iron Banner Seal Triumphs, and the Trespasser Catalyst. And lastly, we’ve written on how to find a Loyalist Commander for Battles Lines Triumph and the Cek’ik Boss.
