This week, you’ll find Xur on Calus’s Barge on Nessus. He basically just seems to move back and forth between there and the Tower lately, huh?
What’s he selling? This week, you can grab the following from him:
- Vigilance Wing: 29 Legendary Shards
- Lucky Pants: 23 Legendary Shards
- Peacekeepers: 23 Legendary Shards
- Nezarec’s Sin: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards
It’s worth noting that Exotic armor now rolls with one of three different Elemental types, as well as a variable number of total stat points. I’ll tell you both of those in the listings below. I’ll also give you my thoughts of the viability of each piece of gear, but if you have the Legendary Shards to spend then it’s always a good idea to buy anything you don’t already have. Gotta fill out those Collections!
Vigilance Wing
Vigilance Wing is an Exotic pulse rifle. Unique among the weapon type, it fires a powerful five-round burst. It also heals you when an ally dies and improves its stability and handling when you’re a last member of your fireteam standing. It’s a passable weapon for PVP, but there are both much better pulse rifles (Bygones, Go Figure, Blast Furnace) and much better kinetic Exotics (Last Word, Ace of Spaces).
Lucky Pants
One of those Exotics with a fantastic premise (read the lore) and a terrible execution, Lucky Pants just aren’t much good. They increase Hand Cannon ready speed and accuracy after a draw, and reload stowed Hand Cannons on precision hits. Hand Cannons are a strong and flexible weapon type, and Lucky Pants are slightly more usable now that we’ve got a Special Hand Cannon in the form of Eriana’s Vow, but Hunters still have many far better Exotics than these. This set is Void elemental and has a stat total of 48.
Peacekeepers
Another Exotic focused on a specific weapon type this week, Peacekeepers are for Titans who prioritize SMGs. Their Exotic perk reloads stowed SMGs and allows them to be readied instantly. Yes, SMGs are pretty meta right now, but these are still very niche. Most Titans will want to roll with one of the other, more effective Titan Exotics. These Peacekeepers are Solar elemental and have a stat total of 50.
Nezarec’s Sin
Last season, Lunafaction Boots were basically the Warlock uniform. Nezarec’s Sin isn’t quite at that level of mandatory gear, but it’s extremely good. Why? Its simple perk recharges your abilities whenever you get Void kills — that includes kills from Void weapons, not just Void abilities. As a result, it plays nicely with the Recluse and especially with the Season Artifact’s emphasis on Void damage effects. Incorporated as a part of a grenade-focused build, Nezarec’s Sin is a ton of fun and extremely effective in most PVE situations. This one is Void elemental (duh) and has a stat total of 46.
Isochronal Engram
Xur’s Isochronal Engram now includes Year Two Exotics, so if you’re missing any of those you can grab this to fill out your collection.
