This week, you’ll find Xur on the Tower. Head to the Hangar, then go up the stairs in the northwest corner of the area to find him lurking about.
This week, you can grab the following from him:
- Suros Regime: 29 Legendary Shards
- Synthoceps: 23 Legendary Shards
- Liar’s Handshake: 23 Legendary Shards
- Geomag Stabilizers: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards
It’s worth noting that Exotic armor now rolls with one of three different Elemental types, as well as a variable number of total stat points. We’ll tell you both of those in the listings below. I’ll also give you my thoughts of the viability of each piece of gear, but if you have the Legendary Shards to spend then it’s always a good idea to buy anything you don’t already have. Gotta fill out those Collections!
Suros Regime
An Exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle, the Suros Regime’s exclusive perk does more damage and can regenerate your health when you reach the bottom half of the magazine. It’s a perfectly serviceable Exotic, but there are far better Kinetic Auto Rifles you could be using. The Monte Carlo and Sweet Business both feel more Exotic and the Breakneck is basically superior and won’t eat your Exotic slot.
Synthoceps
Synthoceps buff your melee and super damage when you’re surrounded by three or more enemies. It’s kind of like the Surrounded weapon perk, but for your fists. Very, very powerful in PVE, and because the power boost lasts for eight seconds, potentially even useful in Crucible. Plus, with their ornament the Synthoceps are some of the coolest-looking gear in Destiny 2. This one is Solar elemental and has a stat total of 48.
Liar’s Handshake
Oh, Liar’s Handshake. Last season, you could use this Exotic in combination with Combination Blow and the One-Two Punch Perk to do something like 36x your normal melee damage and solo Riven. That combo isn’t quite so powerful anymore, but you can still have a lot of fun with Liar’s Handshake. Its Exotic perk both increases the damage from Cross Counter and restores your health, making you more survivable and deadly. This one is Arc elemental and has a stat total of 48.
Geomag Stabilizers
Geomag Stabilizers are a very niche Exotic. They extend the duration of the Chaos Reach Super while damaging enemies, which makes it extremely useful at melting bosses (especially in Gambit). They also let you pop supers a little more often than usual — sprinting when you’re around 80% charged will get your Super meter up the rest of the way. If you’re a diehard Chaos Reach fan, then these are a solid choice. Otherwise, Warlocks have better Super-focused exotics (like the Crown of Tempests). This instance of the Geomags is Arc elemental and has a stat total of 49.
Isochronal Engram
Xur’s Isochronal Engram now includes Year Two Exotics, so if you’re missing any of those you can grab this to fill out your collection.
