While you are wandering around the new expansive world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you may be wondering how you save your progress. It's crucial, especially when facing a Chimera—no one wants to plummet to their demise and lose a ton of progress! Don’t panic; this guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to save in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How To Save in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Saving in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is incredibly simple and follows the same method of saving that you had in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. While there are autosaves, you may find that they aren’t frequent enough and would prefer to save manually.
You can do this at almost any point, but keep in mind that there is only one save slot in total, meaning any autosaves that happen after your manual save will overwrite that save. While the game is still relatively new, it means that you might get yourself in sticky situations where an autosave happens, and your character is bugged or stuck wherever they are.

There is a workaround, though; the third option for saving is Inn saves. Should you die, you have the option of loading from the last save or from the last Inn Rest.
Resting at Inns is incredibly important, especially if you don’t feel confident enough in the autosave/manual save system. Inn saves exist as a separate system. While the Inn saves may mean that you lose a bit of progress, it can save you from being bugged in the game or in an out-of-bounds area.
Resting at Inns can be quite expensive, as it costs 2000 gold per rest, so keep this in mind when you’re approaching a city and are planning on resting at an inn.
That’s everything you need to know about how to save in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Good luck on your adventure, Arisen.
