FFXIV Anima Relic Weapon Guide: How to Get Unidentifiable Items

You have a woke weapon, but it has not felt the power of pure anima yet.

That’s two phases of the Anima Relic Weapon grind done! This guide will cover the Anima Weapons, the third step for Relic Weapons introduced in the Heavensward expansion of Final Fantasy XIV. These are the weapons the entire questline is named for. Given this phase’s importance, it’s no surprise that it’s one of the long-haul phases, with many things to collect. None of these weapons are best-in-slot anymore, so you’re purely doing this for your own satisfaction and for the glam. If you’re looking for another phase, you can head back to the primary guide for the Anima Relic Weapon questline.

How to Unlock Your Anima Relic Weapon

Once again, it’s time to talk to Ardashir in Azys Lla (X: 7.4, Y: 11.5), who will offer you the “Coming into Its Own” quest. This quest will also bring you back into contact with your friend Gerolt from the original Relic Weapon quests! In order to forge your next relic, Gerolt requires four items: Enchanted Rubber, Fast-drying Carboncoat, Divine Water, and Fast-acting Allagan Catalyst.

There’s only one place to get all of these items, however. Cristiana in Mor Dhona (X: 21.3, Y: 5.4) will give you all of the items you need, but only in trade for other items. The full list of required items is as follows:

  • Enchanted Rubber: Unidentifiable Bone (10), Adamantite Francesca (4)
  • Fast-drying Carboncoat: Unidentifiable Shell (10), Titanium Alloy Mirror (4)
  • Divine Water: Unidentifiable Ore (10), Dispelling Arrow (4)
  • Fast-acting Allagan Catalyst: Unidentifiable Seeds (10), Kingcake (4)

This nesting doll of items isn’t over, however! All of the Unidentifiable items can be acquired in multiple ways, either for Allagan Tomestones of Poetics, Tribe Quest tokens, Precision Alexander Gordias Drops, Allied Seals from Hunts, or Treasure Maps. Remember to multiply the costs below by 10!

Tomestones can be given to Auriana in Mor Dhona (X: 22.7, Y: 6.6) and the items are under the “Others” section. There are other options for Tomestone trade-in, which include:

  • Hismena in Idyllshire (X: 5.7, Y: 5.2)
  • Rowena’s Representative in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X: 9.0, Y: 11.1)
  • Rowena’s Representative in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X: 9.1, Y: 8.3)
  • Rowena’s Representative in New Gridania (X: 11.9, Y: 12.3)
  • Rowena’s Representative in Foundation (X: 10.5, Y: 11.8)

The Tribe tokens can be handed to their respective quartermasters.

  • Vanu: Luna Vanu in The Sea of Clouds (X: 7.0, Y: 14.2)
  • Amalj’aa: Amalj’aa Vendor in Southern Thanalan (X: 23.2, Y: 14.1)
  • Vath: Vath Stickpeddler in The Dravanian Forelands (X: 23.6, Y: 19.0)
  • Moogle: Mogmul Mogbelly in The Churning Mists (X: 15.9, Y: 28.5)
  • Sahagin: Sahagin Vendor in Western La Noscea (X: 16.9, Y: 22.4)
  • Kobold: Kobold Vendor in Outer La Noscea (X: 21.6, Y: 17.8)
  • Sylph: Sylphic Vendor in East Shroud (X: 22.3, Y: 26.3)

The Alexander Gordias drops can be handed to Sabina in Idyllshire (X: 5.7, Y: 5.3), once again in the “Others” section. If you need to understand the Treasure Maps system, just check out our handy guide. Finally, Allied Seals can be handed to any of the various Hunt Billmasters, depending on your Grand Company.

  • Hunt Billmaster (Immortal Flames) – Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 13.1, Y: 12.4)
  • Hunt Billmaster (Maelstrom) – Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 13.1, Y: 12.4)
  • Hunt Billmaster (Twin Adder) – New Gridania (X: 9.7, Y: 11.3)

Now let’s look at the various costs associated with these items. Remember that you need 10 of an Unidentifiable item to obtain a required material, so multiply the costs below accordingly!

With all that behind you, you have to deal with the second set of items needed for trade. These need to be acquired from a specific Level 60 Disciple of the Hand or by trading in Company Seals. The Company Seals can be traded in to your specific Grand Company quartermaster, but you need to reach the Second Lieutenant rank in order to purchase them.

The full list and locations of the quartermasters are as follows:

  • Storm Quartermaster in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 13.1, Y: 12.7)
  • Serpent Quartermaster in New Gridania (X: 9.8, Y: 11.0)
  • Flame Quartermaster in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X: 8.3, Y: 9.0)

The recipes for the second group of items required for trade are two-fold. There’s the main item you need, requiring a craft from one Disciple of the Hand, but that craft requires a second item from a different Disciple of the Hand. This leads to nested recipes, which you’ll find below. Once again, you need to multiply costs by four.

Moving past the idea that baking a Kingcake requires a small Moogle Miniature, once you’ve crafted four of the above items alongside the Unidentifiable items, you turn them all in Cristiana in Mor Dhona (X: 21.3, Y: 5.4). Once you get the four major items you need from her, return to Gerolt in Azys Lla (X: 7.4, Y: 11.5) with your Awoken Relic Weapon in your inventory. He will then forge you a brand-new Anima Relic Weapon!
