How to Get Gysahl Greens in FFXIV

Find out where to purchase the mean, green, Chocobo-summoning feed!

In Final Fantasy XIV, your Chocobo can help you fight foes in the open world and battle mobs in the wilderness, as well as heal and buff you — so long as you have Gysahl Greens to feed it. A kind of green cabbage-looking vegetable, Gysahl Greens are used to summon your Chocobo to join you in battle.

When used, Gysahl Greens summons your Chocobo for 30 minutes, which can be extended up to 60 minutes by using a second item. Before summoning your feathered friend, you'll need to know where to find Gysahl Greens and the best vendors to stock up on them.

Where to Find Gysahl Greens in FFXIV

Surprisingly, Gysahl Greens aren’t sold at the Chocobo Farm in Bentbranch Meadows where you first learn how to use your Chocobo in battle. Instead, you can head to the Merchant & Mender just northeast of the location to buy your first Gysahl Greens. Vendors worldwide will sell Gysahl Greens, but this is just one of the locations.

There should be at least one Gysahl Greens vendor in every area. Usually, a Junkmonger or Merchant & Mender NPC sells these items and is visible on your map with a hammer icon or a bag of coins, and each vendor sells Gysahl Greens for 36 gil and buys them back for 1 gil. Outside of the various Junkmongers or Merchant & Menders scattered around the world, you can purchase Gysahl Greens from these easily accessible vendors at the following locations in major cities:

Be wary of the market board when purchasing Gysahl Greens. Sellers there often overcharge, hoping to catch unsuspecting players off guard. Market board fees can drive prices far above the standard 36 gil, making them a poor choice. Instead, look for the dedicated Gysahl Greens vendor in each city.
