A new elite emote is coming to Final Fantasy XIV, and this one is extra special because it's one of few emotes that come with the purchase of something off of the Square Enix store that not just any player can pick up and use.
The item to unlock the Sundering emote is called Ballroom Etiquette - Apocalyptic Charades. The animation shows the character floating into the air, then conjuring a sword. The character then shoves the sword into the ground, hops up, and comes back down in a beam of light. Many Warriors of Light immediately flocked to the internet to try to figure out how to get the emote once it was posted to social media, but they weren't too happy once they found out what's needed to obtain it.
How to get the Sundering emote in FFXIV
This emote is only obtainable one way, and it will require shelling out almost $400. The Ballroom Etiquette - Apocalyptic Charades item is a bonus code when fans purchase the incredibly expensive and impressively large Hydaelyn and Zodiark figure in the Square Enix online store. The figure retails for $359.99, not including shipping fees and taxes. For many, the figure would cost almost $400 to ship to them, and it's only available on the Square Enix store, so there's no avoiding those shipping and handling fees.
This isn't the first emote that players have received by buying a figurine, but it has fans up in arms for one simple reason: the emote is only good for one character on each account. Both previous emotes, the Shiva and Omega bonus codes, were available across all characters on a players' account. Fans are pretty upset that for a figure that's almost double the cost of the others, it won't even be available account-wide. Not only that, but the emote doesn't loop, much like the Omega one does.
Regardless, the emote is still highly desired, but if players want to add it to their arsenal of emotes, they'll need to pay a high price to get it.
