As per Genshin Impact’s schedule, we just received the latest news on the upcoming patch 4.6, and it promises to be a substantial one. This summary will provide all the necessary details to get ready and highlight the exciting features to anticipate.

CHARACTER BANNERS

Let’s get right into the new update by looking at the Character Banners which are split into:

First Phase: newest character Arlecchino, a Pyro polearm user that is also knows as “The Knave” Fatui Harbinger, along with Lyney, a Pyro bow wielder of the House of the Hearts and a member of the Fatui as well.

Second Phase: features the ex Fatui Harbinger Wanderer, an Anemo catalyst wielder. Next to him, Baizhu, a dendro Catalyst user and owner of the Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue.

NEW WEAPON

As the new character, Arlecchino of course comes with her own signature weapon: “Crimson Moon’s Semblance” which shows in the animations as a scythe, the first one ever introduced in the game.!

The polearm will be running in the Weapon Banner along with Lyney’s signature bow: “The First Great Magic”.

CHARACTERS STORY QUESTS

Arlecchino

As per every newly introduced character, Arlecchino has a dedicated Story Quest “Ignis Purgatorius Chapter: Act I” which shows us a hidden side of her as the Knave. During such quest, her Weekly Boss version also gets unlocked.

A new feature is available during Arlecchino’s Story Quest and is available to expand in the future. This feature is called “Focused Experience Mode” and it minimizes the interruption from NPC characters involved in other quests.

Cyno

Our General Mahamatra is one of the few non-Archon characters to get his own second story quest chapter: “Lupus Aereus: Act II”, as of now.

In the upcoming update, we find out more about his backstory and how he acquired his powers. A mysterious NPC makes also his appearance and, due to his distinct looks, gives hints of future playable character speculations. Cyno seems to be involved in a mystery and possibly a rivalry as well. Familiar faces like Kaveh, Alhaitham, Tighnari and Collei come to his aid during the quest.

ARLECCHINO GAMEPLAY

NORMAL/CHARGED ATTACK

Arlecchino, like her personal agents introduced in the previous Fontaine map releases, plays on the mechanic Bond of Life: the red highlighted portion of the affected character’s HP bar with certain points value. When this status is present, it will Absorb any healing that your character will receive until all the Bond of Life points are fulfilled, only once that happens, your character will actually be healed.

When Arlecchino’s Bond of Life is equal or greater than a certain percentage of her HP the Normal/Charged and Plunging attack convert to Pyro DMG that cannot be overridden by other Elemental Infusions. In addition, during this state, Normal and Charged Attacks consume a percent of her Bond of Life to grand more DMG and a cooldown reduction on her Elemental Skill.

Note that when the Knave uses her Charged Attack, she gains a movement ability which allows her to “Fly/Hover”.

ELEMENTAL SKILL

The skill damages her adversaries and applies a “Blood-Debt Directive” on the ones it hits with an effect of DOT. Also, when she uses a Charged Attack or her Elemental Burst, she absorbs nearby Blood-Debt Directives. This mechanic allows her to obtain the Bond of Life based on the number of Directives she absorbed.

ELEMENTAL BURST

Arlecchino's Elemental Burst resets the cooldown of her Elemental Skill after damaging an opponent. On top of that, she heals based on her ATK and her current Bond of Life.

PASSIVE TALENT

Thanks to one of her passive talents, Arlecchino gains Bonus Pyro DMG while in combat, with the compromise that she cannot be healed other than the HP she gains from her Elemental Burst.

NEW BOSSES

WORLD BOSS

In 4.6 there is expected to be a new map expansion which hosts a new boss, in this case the adversary is an old statue from an ancient civilization prior to Fontaine: Remuria.

WEEKLY BOSS

As briefly mentioned earlier in the post, Arlecchino has her own Story Quest which unlocks her as the new Weekly Boss in the “Knave form”. If you have not proceeded with the story, there is the “Quick Challenge” option for weekly Trounce domains as long as you reached AR 40+.
In order to access, all you have to do is to go to: Adventurer Book > Domains Tab > Trounce Domain > Quick Challenge.

Let’s look at a little glimpse of her Boss mechanics:

If you do not repay the “Blood Debt Directives” that Arlecchino applies to you, all her attacks towards you will be enhanced.
If you instead succeed on out-healing her Bond of Life, you will be rewarded with stronger Charged Attacks against her.

NEW ARTIFACTS

During version 4.6, new Artifact sets will join the inventory. We can guess that one of them is specifically designed for Arlecchino, but we will find out more as official details are released.

NEW MAP AREA

Remember the mention of Remuria during the Fontaine Archon Quest? It is finally available as the newest area during version 4.6.
Travelers who have completed the third act of the Archon Quest (Prologue) “Song of the Dragon and Freedom” can find an unlocked Teleport in the Village of Petrichor, where the ancient civilization’s ruins are laid to rest.

With the aid of a summoned talking cat as a guide, we have the chance to unveil the ancient glory of Remuria and its King, Remus, which composed a “Symphony” meant to grant wishes.
During our travels we also meet a Dragon in the depths of the sea and, in addition, gain powers related to the mentioned Symphony needed to solve puzzles and explore within the realm.

EVENTS

IRIDESCENT ARATAKI ROCKIN’ FOR LIFE TOUR DE FORCE OF AWESOMENESS.

You can tell it is Itto’s doing just by looking at how long the name is!

The event is dedicated to celebrate a brave puppy that saved the life of many creatures in the battlefield and Itto is going to use a new style of Rock ‘n’ Roll arriving in Inazuma, to organize a musical tour.

Talking about music, we have a come back of an NPC which made its first appearance in last Lantern Rites of 2023, Dvorak.

On top of Crowns, Primogems and a Gorou’s constellation, we have the chance to receive a new instrument called: “NightWind Horn” so, if you are one of those incredible players which delights us with amazing performances, you are about to have one more tool at your disposal.

Iridescent Arataki Rockin’ for Life tour de Force of Awesomeness is subdivided in three mini-games:

“Xtreme Carnival Ensemble”: play music tracks with the newly acquired horn. This time the game will be a tad different than in the past, but the principle is always the same: a rithm game.
“Trillion Trinket Trawl”: setup the stage and help Dvorak spruce up the musical venue by gathering items off his list.
“Meeting of Melodies: invite fellow music lovers to join the festival. Listen to their tunes and try to recreate them by finding the missing notes.

WINDTRACE: SEEKERS AND STATEGIES

Mondstadt sees the return of an older event (and a very loved one) with new features. The Hunters and Rebels works as usual as far as Hide and Seek mechanic goes, however:

When Rebels are captured for the first time they are sent to the “Surveillance Zone” for a short span and freed up after their time is out, but their teammates can set them free before then. If captured and placed in the “Surveillance zone” twice, the rebel is expelled from the match.
Every round has six Signaling Devices that do not allow the nearby rebels to conceal themselves. The goal is for the Rebels to fix those devices while avoiding capture. Repairing four of them allows to win the match, which rebels can speed up by working together on the same one. Hunters can either prevent the Rebels from repairing the device or just capture the players.
When the Device is being repaired with more than one Rebel at the time, it enters a phase called: “High Speed Signaling”. Every player in the area is able to see the light it gives off since it is also marked in the mini map, which is great to have other team members join, but also has a big downside because it helps Hunters locate players easily.

SPECIALLY-SHAPED SAURIAN SEARCH

A strange commission is looking to be fulfilled with a famous Chef, which recently returned from Natlan (wink wink new region!), looking to acquire the company of unique beings like: Pyro Ragesvine, Primo Geovishap, Jadeplume Terror and the Millennial Pearl SeaHorse. The idea comes from the fact that in Natlan people has Saurian companions.

During the game, adjust the difficulty and negotiation strategies within Normal, Hard and Fearless difficulty. Also talk to Ranjit to setup the amount of Active and long-term negotiation strategies: the less negotiations, the harder the challenge.

VIBRO-CRYSTAL APPLICATIONS

As in the past events of the same series, each round requires two teams and before the match you can setup Vibro-Crystal Harmonic plans.

Different combinations bring different combat bonuses to the table (the Transmitter Crystal defines the Trigger condition while the Receiver Crystal grants the resulting buff).

During combat you gain an Harmonic Point with the trigger of an Harmonic Effect and bonus buffs are granted with the accumulation of said points.

OVERFLOWING MASTERY

If you are looking to upgrade your character, this event is a great time to farm talent books since it offers drop bonuses.

TCG UPDATE

To all the TCG masters and aficionado, this is your time to shine! The event “Forge Realm’s Temper” is making a return, and the “Heated Battle Mode” feature is undergoing some changes as well.

SYSTEM OPTIMIZATIONS

During the next patch there are several QoL updates that will be introduced, let’s look at them:

Serenitea Pot “Quick Obtain” feature: allows to place all the missing furnishing from a set in a queue where you can purchase all the required components, then craft the piece(s) of interest.
New in-game avatars: More character avatars have been added ingame with some of the most beloved NPCs: from Guizhong to Arama, Ruu and many more. Now players will be able to customize their profiles even more.
Treasure Compass: in addition to the classic compass features, a chest marker will be added both to mini and regular map with layer placement details as well.

OST

A new Fontaine Soundtrack “Cantus Aeternus” is about to be released during 4.6, containing the newest Fontaine region and related content’s OST.
