Unsung Gauntlets of Abyssos are one of several raid “tokens” used to purchase Item Level 610 Purgatory armor in FFXIV. Released with Patch 6.2, you can exchange two pairs of gauntlets for one piece of hand armor (a.k.a. gloves). These are available by speaking to either Mylenie in Labyrinthos (X: 8.3, Y: 27.6) or Djole in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.3, Y: 9.6).
You can acquire Unsung Gauntlets of Abyssos from all four levels of the Abyssos raid, unlike certain other item sets. Said levels are as follows:
- Abyssos: The Fifth Circle
- Abyssos: The Sixth Circle
- Abyssos: The Seventh Circle
- Abyssos: The Eighth Circle
Note that all such token drops — including the gauntlets — are limited to one per raid level per week for whichever is the current-highest tier of raid. This is Abyssos after Patch 6.2. In other words, players must first roll Need or Greed on the gauntlets (or any other item from the loot pool). Then, if you win a particular gear token, you cannot claim any other tokens from that section until the weekly reset on Tuesday.
For example, claiming a pair of gauntlets from Abyssos: The Seventh Circle will lock you out of receiving further pairs of gauntlets and all other gear items from The Seventh Circle until the reset. You may still receive gear tokens from the other three circles. Provided you haven’t already claimed the weekly token from them, of course.
Thus, FFXIV players are limited to four total tokens per new tier of Normal Raid per week and must choose which armor to prioritize. Because only two gauntlets are needed to purchase hand armor, however, you can technically obtain up to two pairs of Purgatory gloves per week. Such as if you decided to claim a pair of healer gloves and a pair of tank gloves.
