Final Fantasy XIV 6.5 Site Update Adds Gear, Fall Guys Event Previews

Check out the new armor before the patch releases!

There are just a few days to go until the release of part one of Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 6.5, and Square Enix is building up the hype with some new info added to the 6.5 Special Site. In an update, fans of the game were able to catch a glimpse of some of the new content being added to the game.

The main attraction was the new screenshots of Thaleia, the final Alliance Raid of the Myths of the Realm series. This new screenshot revealed Thaliak, ruler of rivers and wisdom, and the Eorzean god of knowledge. Additionally, fans got their first really good look at the Alliance Raid gear, some appropriately godly armor that embodies some elements of The Twelve.

Beyond this, there were two revealing screenshots of the Fall Guys Collaboration. While fans know this isn’t coming to FFXIV in Patch 6.5, and they'll likely have to wait until 6.51 or beyond, these pictures were pretty enlightening, showing something similar to Fall Guys' arenas, albeit with some familiar FFXIV adversaries, such as Typhon, Imps and Cactaurs. These will likely be Gold Saucer Active Time Events (GATEs), so expect a very busy time at the Gold Saucer when they launch.

The new Crystalline Conflict map revealed at Sunday’s Live Letter also made an appearance, along with the new PvP gear, which was previously only shown off on a piece of paper held by Naoki Yoshida. This PvP gear, which will be obtainable via PvP Trophy Crystals, has a much more modern appearance than most gear. It can be expected that these outfits will be a massive hit in the RP and clubbing scene.

Overall, it's not a huge amount of new information, but given the patch is set to drop on Oct. 3, any little bit of info to build excitement is warranted.
