FFXIV Patch 6.15 — Everything You Need to Know [UPDATED]

Between the new Arkasodara Tribal quests, Custom Deliveries, and Hildibrand adventures, FFXIV 6.15 is bringing the heat.

Final Fantasy XIV players should be hyped up about the latest update in the current patch cycle — FFXIV Patch 6.15 is delivering a good chunk of new content. FFXIV 6.15 releases on June 7 at 3:00 a.m. PT following the scheduled server maintenance. You’ll be able to take part in the new Arkasodara Tribal quests, continue in the misadventures of inspector extraordinaire Hildibrand Manderville, and help Ameliance with some Custom Deliveries. And if you’ve been keeping up with the developments of FFXIV PVP, we’ll get some additional balance changes (even after Patch 6.11a’s changes). Here are all the details of what we know so far about FFXIV Patch 6.15.

UPDATE (6/2/2022): An update to the official FFXIV 6.1 site confirmed that both upcoming sidequest series Omega: Beyond the Rift and Tataru’s Grand Endeavor will be included in Patch 6.15. This story has been edited to reflect the new information.

UPDATE (6/7/2022): The official patch notes have been published and we have a full breakdown of FFXIV Patch 6.15 including how to unlock the new content, a look at the new mount and minion, and much more. This story has been edited to reflect the new information.

Arkasodara Tribal Quests

You’ll be spending some extra time in Thavnair helping the kind-hearted elephant-like folks in the new Tribal questline. If the the FFXIV Patch 6.1 trailer is anything to go by, it seems hippo cart drag racing is in our immediate future. Pink slips for hippos? It won’t matter whether you win by a yalm or a malm, winning is winning. In a previous Live Letter, director and producer Naoki Yoshida seemed to show off a bit of  the Thavnair zone dedicated to the Tribal quests, which comes with a sweet new theme song for the Arkasodara and a hippo cart mount.

Make sure you have completed the necessary sidequests in the Thavnair zone. Among them are two separate the questlines that start with “What’s in a Parent” in Thavnair (X: 29.2, Y: 15.3) from the NPC named Yezahn, and the aether current quest “Steppe Child” in Thavnair (X: 25.6, Y: 36.1) from the NPC named Ogul. If you’re hyped up for this, be sure to use our full Arkasodara Tribal Quests unlock guide to get these questlines done as soon as possible.

Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures

It’s hard to believe that we went a whole expansion without a batch of quests starring the inspector extraordinaire, the Gentleman of Light, the Hildibrand Manderville. If you had a sharp-enough eye, you could sometimes spot him within the Heroes’ Gauntlet dungeon from Patch 5.3 — he seemed to be caught between realms having spawned as a spectral being. Well, it looks like he’s currently in rough shape (again) and still on The First.

If you haven’t started the Hildibrand questline yet, you definitely should. They’re goofy as hell and shows the more comedic side of FFXIV, combining absurdist humor with some surprisingly deep lore. You kick things off with the quest titled “The Rise and Fall of Gentlemen” in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X: 9.8, Y; 8.7) from the NPC named Wymond, which is made available upon completing A Realm Reborn. Subsequent Hildibrand questlines are available after finishing Heavensward and Stormblood, and you’ll need to have finished Endwalker and the aforementioned Hildibrand quests for these new ones introduced in Patch 6.15.

If you need help completing adventures with the inspector extraordinaire, be sure to use our full Hildibrand quests locations and 6.15 unlock guide — just be ready for hours of Manderville family hijinx!

Custom Deliveries for Ameliance

For the crafters and gatherers of FFXIV, you will have a new client to do Custom Deliveries for: Ameliance Leveilleur. Old Sharlayan opening its borders in a post-Endwalker world, and you’ll be using your Disciples of the Hand and Land skills to help. In practice, this means more Scrips, Gil, and EXP for us. You can find the prerequisite quests to unlock Ameliance’s Custom Deliveries in our breakdown of the FFXIV 6.15 patch notes. Raising her satisfaction level will unlock additional quests and the ability to apply glamour to her.

Job Changes in FFXIV 6.15

The state of Jobs is always changing in FFXIV. But based on comments from Yoshida with regards to the adjustments in the recent Patch 6.11a, it seems that the team wanted to revert some of the changes made to Black Mage in PVP with Patch 6.15. In a blog post on The Lodestone, he said, “We have received a great deal of feedback regarding these changes, and in hindsight, I believe we went too far with our adjustments. For this, I apologize.”

We now know that there are only minor PVP changes, specifically with Ninja and Black Mage (check out our full 6.15 patch notes breakdown for all the details). There are no changes to Jobs in the core PVE gameplay. If PVP piques your interest, check out our FFXIV PVP tier list for a detailed breakdown on the current state of Jobs in the competitive PVP modes.

Omega: Beyond the Rift — The Return of the Baby

One of the more intriguing sidequest series set to release in Patch 6.15 is Omega: Beyond the Rift. This one will tie the storylines of the Omicron on Ultima Thule (the final Endwalker zone) and the Omega raid series from Stormblood, both of which have deeper lore implications about dragonkind and the history of AI-driven machines in the FFXIV world. What’s more important is we get to see the baby again! Anything to see our precious little Alpha in action again is a W in my book!

You will have to have finished Endwalker MSQ and the Omega raid series in order to access this new questline. If you haven’t started the Omega raids, well, you should — they’re good fun and contain a gripping story, which kicks off with the quest “The Hunt for Omega” from Wedge in Rhalgr’s Reach (X: 12.6, Y: 12.4).

For more on how to access this content, be sure to use our Omega: Beyond the Rift and raid unlock guide because this is that good stuff you love to see in FFXIV.

Tataru’s Grand Endeavor — Inside the Mind of a Girl Boss

We all know Tataru is always scheming in the background when the Scions aren’t looking, and Tataru’s Grand Endeavor will get into how she’s running her own boutique. She has been quite the crafty seamstress throughout FFXIV, making the winter coats that kept the Scions warm when going into Garlemald and the Warrior of Light’s new getup in the Patch 6.1 storyline. You’ll only be able to access this sidequest series once you’ve finished Patch 6.1 MSQ (all the way through “Newfound Adventure”).

We will have FFXIV Patch 6.15 covered from all angles when it launches on June 7. Currently, we have a breakdown of the patch notes and guides for the new content. You can also catch up on what was changed with the recent Patch 6.11a, or read up on what Yoshida said about the future of Jobs in FFXIV. Did you know that there’s a whole player-made aquarium in a Free Company house on the Malboro server? Yeah, the Eorzean Aquarium is pretty sweet, and we spoke with its creators.
