With the release of the current iteration of the Valentione's Day event, Final Fantasy XIV is filled with love and ardor towards players, NPCs and more. To celebrate the event, developer Square Enix took things a step further by holding a Valentione's Day Memories Sweepstakes competition, challenging players to snap love-filled Group Poses of their Warriors of Light.
For the sweepstakes announced on Feb. 7, players must show off their GPose skills to win. The screenshots must use stickers and Group Pose frames to show players' characters celebrating Valentine's Day 2024.
Posting screenshots of your Warrior of Light engaged in lovey-dovey activity could be slightly embarrassing, but looking into the rewards will turn some heads, namely the Gaelicap hat, Great Paraserpent fashion item, Modern Aesthetics – Strife hairstyle, and Noble Barding. It's possible some participating players might already have these items, as the 2019 Fan Festivals and the Sightseeing Screenshot Sweepstakes offered the same rewards.
The terms of entry are pretty specific — players must reply to the above announcement post with their screenshot, the hashtag #FFXIVSweepstakes, their full in-game character name, and their Home World name while stating their preferred prize. The Valentione's Day Memories Sweepstakes is also the first sweepstakes contest of 2024. In 2023, the game celebrated the 10th anniversary of A Realm Reborn with a similar sweepstakes, offering the Fat Black Chocobo Whistle and, with it, the rare Fat Black Chocobo mount as the competition's reward. Additionally, a 10th Anniversary Mosaic Art Sweepstakes took place in the same month.
FFXIV's sweepstakes have previously awarded in-game items and real-world prizes. The most notable example is when winners of the 2021 Fan Festival Group Pose Screenshot Campaign received physical prints of their winning entries.
This contest is another reason to log on to the game during February. Besides the Moogle Treasure Trove event and Valentione's Day event, the chance to snap a screenshot and get some rare items is pretty irresistible. Entries close on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 8am PST.
