Final Fantasy XIV's Starlight Celebration is Coming December 15

This year, looks like your WoL might be hopping down some chimneys.

Every year, Final Fantasy XIV players have their very own holiday to look forward to called the Starlight Celebration. It always comes around mid-December, and there are usually some nice seasonal rewards to look forward to collecting. On Dec. 15, players will get the chance to celebrate again.

The event will run from 12am (Pacific Time) on Dec. 15 until 6:59am on Dec. 31, giving fans just over two weeks to complete the seasonal quest chain and claim their holiday-themed prizes. The quest "Blue Starlight" will be available from the Bearded Lady NPC near Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre in Old Gridania (X: 10.2, Y: 9.4). Players will need to be at level 15 or higher in the job they're playing to start the quest.

At the end of the quest chain, as is customary for seasonal events, players will be able to get six limited-time items. Five of these are pieces of gear that make up the Unorthodox Saint's set: a hat and beard, halfrobe, gloves, pants, and boots. The other item is a chocobo-shaped topiary covered in decorative lights. Some items that were available in past iterations of the event can be bought at the Starlight Supplier, but what those items are won't be revealed until it begins.

Judging by the costume that Warriors of Light will be getting for the event, as well as the promotional art, it's fair to assume that the quest chain might just revolve around the spirit of giving. After all, Starlight began with some generous Ishgardian knights showing kindness to the cold, starving orphans of the city. It follows, then, that Warriors of Light may just be spreading the Starlight spirit this year while donning their Santa-inspired suits.
