Square Enix Unveils Teaser Video of Upcoming FFXIV Growing Light Soundtrack

The definitive soundtrack to the past two years of FFXIV is close to release!

Square Enix has hyped up the release of the Growing Light: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack with a new teaser video previewing many of the tracks on the new album. First announced in January, the Growing Light album will feature tracks from the 6.X series of patches, including tracks from the Pandæmonium and Thaleia raids.

The preview video, posted on March 8 on Square Enix’s official YouTube channel, kicks off with the incredible theme from the Zeromus fight, the culmination of part one of the 6.5 patch. It then goes on to preview tracks from raids, and details of an extra series of live performance video included with the release. These include performances from Amanda Achen and The Primals, on a Blu-Ray Music Disk with audio and video recordings.

The Growing Light Soundtrack is also notable for including a number of tracks directly from Final Fantasy XVI, likely a preview of the tracks and Orchestrion Rolls we’ll be receiving with the FFXVI x FFXIV collaboration later this year. Besides these, the album includes every single new piece of music added to the game since the 6.1 patch, covering over two years of content.

The video also gave the best look we’ve had yet at the bonus Hydaelyn Idol minion which is set to be included with the soundtrack. Players who purchase Growing Light: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack will each receive a code for the in-game minion.

Growing Light: Final Fantasy XIV Original Soundtrack is officially on sale beginning March 27, and will retail for $49.99. The album will feature 93 original tracks, with the two additional movie performances of Scream and Flow from the Fan Festival 2023 in Las Vegas. While a steep price for a CD, the nearly 100 total tracks helps justify the cost. This, plus the fact this is the definitive musical representation of the past 24 months of Endwalker, could sway many to pick up this enticing album.
