Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a massive game that comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect to see from a modern, open world video game. Most of the time, your objectives are marked for you on your map, allowing you to save precious brain juice for other things. But on occasion, side quests can be layered under other side quests. Sometimes you may have a question, and there will be no answer in sight until you knock out a task that turns out to be related. That’s the case with Quetzalcoatl, a miniature boss fight of sorts that’s key to finishing up a crafting recipe for a totally separate side quest.
How to Complete FF7 Rebirth Side Quest Where the Wind Blows
The side quest in question is Where the Wind Blows, the fifth such quest you’ll pick up in the Grasslands region once side quests actually become available to you. You’ll meet a woman named Mildred who is looking after a dilapidated windmill, and enlists the help of Cloud’s squad for repairs. The problem is one of the parts needed comes from a super rare creature, the Quetzalcoatl. Not only is it a pain in the neck to type that thing’s name out, it’s also a pain in the neck to actually find one. At first, anyways.

How to Find Quetzalcoatl in FF7 Rebirth
That’s because Quetzalcoatl is considered a Classified Foe in the world of FF7 Rebirth. What does that mean? It means you’ll need to work with your weirdo robot pals Chadley and Mia in order to find it. Specifically, the location will be revealed once you uncover a certain number of lifesprings. If you haven’t played Rebirth yet, these are nice and easy. Not only do lifesprings get marked on the map, you’ll also have a colorful owl start squawking at you like a Donkey Kong Country character as soon as you get close.

Once you hit enough lifesprings in the Grasslands, a new waypoint for your first Classified Foe will be added to the map. Get over to it, and keep in mind this is pretty much a boss fight with a recommended level of 22. You can’t run from these battles either, so make sure to heal and save first. Luckily, it’s a fairly easy fight since it’s the first one.
Now that you know how to find Quetzalcoatl and what the deal with Classified Foes is, you’re prepared for one of the trickier recurring tasks FF7 Rebirth will throw at you. You’re also armed with the knowledge that if something isn’t clear right away, chances are simply ticking off the parts of the checklist you can see will reveal additional instructions eventually.
