Procedural generation has become a norm in many survival games, raising the question of the uniqueness of the worlds we've grown to cherish. While LEGO Fortnite is no Minecraft, are the maps still randomly generated? After all, it's not something Fortnite is well known for.
Are Maps Randomly Generated in LEGO Fortnite?
Unlike the standard Fortnite, where the map remains consistent for all players, LEGO Fortnite introduces an element of procedural generation. Each time you generate a new world, be it Survival or Sandbox mode, the game crafts a distinct world for every player, using a seed that is either randomly selected or specified by you.

This is the reason why pinpointing a certain location on the map is impossible, as each world differs from the next. Sometimes, the Dry Lands may be nearby, but at other times, you might need to travel a considerable distance before encountering even a single cactus.
With that being said, you will be able to share your world with other players so that you can have a joint adventure traveling the different biomes and fighting all the enemy units you can come across. You can do so by following these steps:
- If you want players to join your world while being online, have them join your party in the Fortnite lobby and then join your world.
- If you want players to be able to access your world even when you are offline, access the Menu and go to the Players tab. There, you can give Key Holders to your friends, allowing them unrestricted access to your world.
Finally, while the layout of the map will be randomized, there are several settings you can alter while creating a world to better suit your gaming preferences and intent - maybe you want a very mellow or a very ruthless experience. Here are the settings you can opt in or out when creating a new world:
- Override World Seed: By choosing a number between 1 and 2147483647, you can generate a new world that will be identical to another world's starting point.
- Enemies (On / Off): Determines whether hostile creatures will spawn in the world.
- Hunger (On / Off): Determines if your character will feel hungry or not, requiring food consumption.
- Temperature (On / Off): Determines if your character will be affected by temperature changes like hot in the Dry Valley or cold in the Frostlands.
- Stamina (On / Off): Determines if your character will spend Stamina when swimming, running, or pushing objects.
- Elimination (On / Off): Determines if your character can be eliminated.
- Drop Inventory Upon Elimination (On / Off): Determines if your character, after being eliminated, will drop in a backpack for you to retrieve later.
- Friendly Creatures (On / Off): Determines if friendly creatures will appear in the world, enabling further resource collection.
- Friendly Damage (On / Off): Determines if players can cause damage to Villagers or other players.
- Villagers (On / Off): Determines if Villagers will appear in the world.
- Power System (On / Off): Determines if you will need batteries to run machinery such as vehicles.
