Destiny 2 Penguin Souvenir Guide - Where to Find the Penguin Souvenirs

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is finally here after months and months of waiting. Acting as the next major chapter in this FPS/RPG hybrid, players will embark on a journey to Europa to battle against a Fallen leader called Eramis and learn more about the true nature of the Darkness. This expansion includes new characters, missions, endgame activities, weapons, exotics, and enemy types. Similar to both Shadowkeep and Forsaken, there are also secret statues you have to find throughout Europa. These penguin souvenirs not only added a friendly ambiance to Variks’ decrepit base but are tied to the “Reuniting the Eventide Rookery ” Triumph.

We will update our guide with the location of each penguin souvenir as they are discovered by the community. Here’s where you can grab the first one and start building your collection of adorable animal figurines.

Penguin Souvenir Locations

Destiny 2 Penguin Souvenir

Cadmus Ridge – Week One

Your first penguin souvenir is located right by the main road in Cadmus Ridge. Spawn at Charon’s Crossing and take the left road to the next patrol zone. When you enter Cadmus Ridge, stop along the icy ledges to your right and climb up to the top. You will encounter some Vex enemies outside so blast them apart and head inside the cave to your right. If you’re unlucky, powerful Vex enemies will spawn and place a barrier around the penguin souvenir. These enemies are quite tough and were over 1200 Power, so expect a fight if you go searching for this item.

For those that are under-leveled, I recommend waiting for your Super or trying to enlist a buddy to help. These enemies hit hard and you’ll want to stay outside the cave. This will minimize splash damage, allowing you to easily dodge their attacks or flee back down the cliff to recover your health. Once all of the enemies have been reduced to scrap, pick up the penguin souvenir nestled against the far wall.

Destiny 2 Penguin 2

Well of Infinitude – Week Two

The second penguin is here! To find this penguin, spawn on Europa and then head to the Asterion Abyss to your right. When you arrive, stick to the right side and go down into the large cave system where you originally communed with the Darkness. Take another right when you reach this cave and follow the path until you enter the Well of Infinitude. Keep progressing through this location until you enter a large icy room with large Vex columns jutting out from the ground. At the end of the room to the left, you will find a little nook (shown above) where the penguin is hidden behind a shield. Interact with the penguin to drop the shield so you can pick it up.

Destiny 2 Eventide Ruins Penguin

Eventide Ruins – Week Three

Another week, another penguin. You can find the third penguin in the Eventide ruins, but to obtain it you’ll need to acquire a Scorch Cannon. This weapon is not just lying around, so you’ll need to kill a new mini-boss Fallen Captain that’s roaming around the back of this patrol zone (pictured above). He’s pretty weak, but if you’re under-leveled try to keep your distance or enlist a few other Guardians roaming around to help. Once the Captain is dead, take his Scorch Cannon and quickly head to the building in the center of the patrol zone.

Destiny 2 Eventide Ruins Penguin

This is where the entrance to the Bunker E15 Lost Sector is, so head into the door and look to your right. You should see a small crystalized penguin, which can only be freed by using the Scorch Cannon. Blow it up and claim your adorable prize.

Destiny 2 Week Four Penguin

Bray Exoscience  – Week Four

The fourth penguin is located in Bray Exoscience which can be accessed by going into the large building in the western portion of Cadmus Ridge. When you enter this structure, run through the lobby, and keep going until you reach the long hallway where the drones are flying around. At the end, you will see a deep blue room with some Fallen enemies inside. Kill them and then approach the Penguin on the medical table to the right. This will cause a blue shield to appear and more Fallen enemies to arrive. Slay them to unlock the penguin, allowing you to add it to your collection.

Asterion Abyss – Week Five

Super easy penguin to find this week! Just spawn in to Europa and make the drive up to Asterion Abyss. The penguin is overlooking the area with the lost sector below. You’ll need to jump up the vex tower above the cave to make your way over to here. Keep an eye out for the Vex that spawn, even at 1220 they show up as sword strength foes.

Riis-Reborn Approach – Week Six

Another incredibly easy penguin to acquire. When you spawn, make your way to the Riis-Reborn Approach which is north of Eventide Ruins. Take the elevator up to this location and continue through the area until you reach the location that splits into a right and left path. In this room, you’ll find a yellow bar Vandal wandering around. Kill it to cause the penguin to spawn on its corpse.

Nexus – Week Seven

The final penguin is here and to free this flightless bird you’ll need to do a bit of Oracle hunting in the Nexus. There are four Oracles that will appear one after another whenever you blow them up. All of these Oracles will appear in the main room with the massive Vex constructs, so don’t worry about venturing down the path to the left. Below are screenshots of all four Oracles in the order they will appear. I recommend bringing a sniper rifle or scout rifle since two are pretty far away.

Oracle 1

Oracle 2

Oracle 3

Oracle 4

After destroying the fourth Oracle you’ll spawn the Penguin right by the last Oracle. Collect this item to complete this week’s secret.

Destiny 2 Week 8 Penguin

Kell’s Rising – Week Eight

The eighth penguin is located in Kell’s Rising, deep in the Fallen factory. To reach this section, head through the Riis-Reborn Approach and take the elevator on the right. Make your way through the transporter, follow the path until you reach another pair of doors, and go through the one in front of you. This will lead you to Kell’s Rising. Continue through Kell’s Rising until you enter the large factory. Inside the first major portion of this area, you’ll find several Fallen enemies along with a new mini-boss in the back right corner. Kill the boss to spawn the penguin hiding behind some crates (shown above).

Destiny 2 Ninth Penguin

Eternity – Week Nine

Your final penguin is located in Eternity which can be accessed by going to the Cadmus Ridge patrol zone and entering the facility to the left. Once inside, go to the back right door in the main lobby and follow the halls until you reach Eternity. Upon arriving, make your way through the majority of this zone until you arrive in a large room that is mostly frozen over. This location should have a large cylindrical machine and an open door on the left. Go through the door, kill the yellow bar Fallen enemy, and pick up their orb.

With the charge in hand, run through the rest of Eternity until you reach a long red hallway where you have to jump from platform to platform. At the top, before the vent you usually drop through, you’ll see a machine that you can deposit the orb into. Do this to spawn the final penguin right next to you.

Where to Place Penguin Souvenirs

Now that you have a penguin souvenir, return to where Variks is and enter through the door to the right of the one you’d normally open. You should see a stack of papers on some boxes, so approach these to get a prompt to place the penguin down. Doing this will place the souvenir, adding it to your collection, and completing the first step of the Triumph. Currently, there are no other papers or places to put a souvenir, which lends more substance to the belief that these release once a week. So if you want that shiny new title, you will need to start looking for them every week, at least until they’ve all been found.
