Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is the wacky, colorful multiplayer game that’s taking Twitch by storm. Developed by Mediatonic and published by Devolver Digital, Fall Guys is a 60 player game that mashes Mario Party-style mini-games with the competitive battle royale genre. Users assume the role of a nameless jellybean that must grab, jump, dive, and ragdoll its way to victory across multiple stages. Originally only playable during gaming press events, Fall Guys quickly gained traction following its short Closed Beta. Now set to be free on Playstation Plus in August and set to release on PC, many users are wondering if this title will have crossplay.
Does Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Have Crossplay?
Yes, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will have crossplay, but not at launch. We confirmed this with Fall Guys’ public relations team, who explained that developer Mediatonic is hoping to implement crossplay as soon as possible. While no release date or month was given, this is a feature that the team is planning on introducing. Given how wildly popular crossplay has become in the gaming community, it’s always exciting to see its implementation in multiplayer games such as Fall Guys. This is especially true given how hesitant Sony has been in the past about using this feature. So rest assured, crossplay is coming, hopefully sometime soon after the launches on August 4th.

What is Fall Guys?
For the unfamiliar, Fall Guys is a 60 player multiplayer game where you compete against other users in a series of different mini-games. Each mini-game weeds out several players until a handful of users remain who are tasked with fighting for the golden crown. These mini-games span a wide range from obstacle courses to team games where players have to grab tails off the backsides of fellow jellybeans. Another mini-game tasks players with surviving a floor that constantly breaks apart, which can lead to some truly harrowing moments. Users can only jump, dive, or grab onto ledges/other players, which means there is some level of randomness to whether you make it to the next mini-game.
While this can be seen as frustrating, there’s something hilarious about watching 40ish players all try to squeeze through a tiny door at the same time. This game heavily relies on loose ragdoll physics, so expect your personal jellybean is sent flying into the air after colliding with a fan. There are no other mechanics outside of the ones introduced in the mini-games, along with no story component. Players can also earn experience and earn various cosmetic rewards such as different colors, patterns, and even costumes for your character. Also, the game is going to be free on PS4, so really don’t have an excuse not to try it, right?
Mediatonic’s Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is set to release on August 4 for PS4 and PC.
