Ring of Elysium Europa Landing Guide: The Best Starting Areas

It can be difficult to figure out where you want to drop in Ring of Elysium — like any other battle royale, to be honest. And if you’re still missing the first map, Mt. Dione, it can be a little rough getting acclimated to the new map Europa.

But with a little time and patience, you’ll get used to all the useful hot spots all around the tropical paradise. If you don’t have the time to spend testing out which areas work best for you or just don’t plain want to, we’ve got a handy guide to the most useful spots out scattered throughout the Europa map. You’ll be commanding your squad like a pro in no time.

Ring of Elysium Europa

1. Fisherman Town

This location is easy to access, simple to traverse, and absolutely teeming with buildings. That means there are tons of floors to search for items and corners to duck into if you happen to need a quick getaway. There’s a large movie theater, rooftops upon rooftops, and multiple areas to sweep to grab all the loot your greedy little heart can possibly handle. It’s one of the worst kept secrets of Europa, but even if you see it teeming with other players, it’s still absolutely worth descending upon for the easy scores.

2. Ocean Park

Yes, Ocean Park resembles a theme park, but that doesn’t mean you should keep away from it for fear of getting taken out early. It’s actually easy to blend into the lively surroundings and large structures, with plenty of circus tents to duck into and find loot. There’s also a ton of boats you can commandeer on all sides of the park. This means you can speed your way to other locations like Fisherman Town in a relatively short amount of time without having to worry about traveling on foot. You can even take a submarine for an undersea odyssey here, which reinforces the whole “theme park” experience.

Aside from its tactical advantages, it’s one of the most visually appealing and entertaining drop zones. The only problem? You’re going to want to play around here instead of getting down to business – it looks like so much fun!

3. Marius Observatory

You can’t miss the enormous observatory here, with tons of loot waiting on every floor. When you get out of the observatory, there are more areas still to sweep for goodies. You obviously have to worry about the potential enemies lurking around the area due to its prime location on the map, but if you play it safe and stay in the large structure, this shouldn’t be too much of a concern. The observatory also offers sanctuary while you await the helicopter to take you away as well as a sniping zone to slowly and safely pick off your opponents.

Plus, you can stare out from the observatory and obviously survey the entirety of the area — that’s what the structure was built for, after all — and make some important strategic decisions from there. It’s a great spot overall, with a breathtaking view if you have time to take it all in.

4. Galileo Harbor

Nearly all the way down at the bottom of the map is Galileo Harbor, which is another area most players don’t bother treading – it’s pretty unassuming and out of the way. But when you get there, you’ll see exactly why it’s worth heading to. For one, you can check out the large ship for a ton of loot and equipment to give you a head start. Position your landing right on the ship and get to snooping around crates and other nooks and crannies here.

Given its remote location, you’ll be able to get kitted out relatively quickly with useful equipment without being bothered too much – and when the other players do end up making their way there, there are plenty of hiding spots to take advantage of. Seriously, it’s a huge ship. There are ways to simply disappear.

5. Minos Island

Whether you opt for solos or duos, Minos Island is a great starting position. For one thing, given its remote location, there aren’t a ton of players usually kicking things off there. It’s too inconvenient – unless you can find a vehicle that’s seaworthy, and fast. It’s divided into eastern and western islands, and both have their fair share of useful access points. The western island has plenty of residences you can loot as well as take refuge in, but like we previously stated about being isolated, you probably won’t need to.

The eastern island features a lighthouse as a landmark. You can’t enter it, but you can certainly take shelter nearby from any stragglers you may find combing the area. After taking the items you need from either island, you can simply hop on the bridge that leads to Whiteshore to the southeast, so you’re no longer stuck wandering around on the islands and can get on with the show.
