Siding With Evelyn or Dex Choice - Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

Which side should you pick?

After you’ve made it past both Braindance sequences during The Information mission in Cyberpunk 2077, Evelyn will ask you to cut out Dex. She’ll walk out into the hall and lean up against the wall to make the proposition. Fortunately, you do have some time to make your choice, but you’ll want to be prepared with enough information to make your decision. At this point, you’ll have the option to say either “I’ll think about it,” or “No way. Dex trusts me.” Whichever you choose, you’ll still have time to make your final decision in the next mission called The Heist. So don’t worry, regardless of the option you picked at that point.

Cutting Dex out will apparently result in a 50 percent pay increase during the proposed heist. The problem is that Dex is (seemingly) your friend and he even promises to give you a higher cut if you opt to tell him about Evelyn. In this guide, we’ll cover the outcomes of siding with Evelyn or Dex during The Information mission in Cyberpunk 2077.

More Cyberpunk 2077:

Should I Side With Evelyn or Dex?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter which character you choose to side with. Without getting too far into spoiler territory, the outcome at the end is the same.

By telling Dex about Evelyn, he says he’ll give you a 40 percent pay bonus, but this ultimately doesn’t happen. You don’t get paid after the heist, and Dex turns out to be kind of an asshole anyway. We won’t spoil what happens during and after the heist, but suffice to say, it doesn’t go according to plan and the choice you made doesn’t change the final outcome.

Siding with Evelyn doesn’t seem to impact the outcome either way, so at the end of the day, you can pick to side with the character you like the most.

After you’ve talked with Evelyn during The Information mission, you’ll need to call Dex, at which point The Heist mission will begin. You’ll drive to The Afterlife, talk with Jackie, and eventually join Dex in the booth.

Place the Flathead on the table, sit down and talk for a bit, and then you’ll be met with a dialogue option. Either “Pretty Well. Saw Konpeki Plaza from the inside,” or “Not bad…But she wants to cut you loose.” Picking the second option will alert Dex that Evelyn wants to cut ties. If you pick the first option, everything will continue as planned, as you keep your secrets about Evelyn.

After you make your choice, you’ll go over the plan for The Heist. Here is where you can ask questions about the plan to make sure everything is clear. If you’ve made it to this section, you’ve reached the point of no return when it comes to choosing between Dex and Evelyn. But again, we haven’t encountered any benefits to picking either, so don’t worry too much when making your choice.

For those of you who haven’t kept up with everything, there’s been quite a trail left by the release of Cyberpunk 2077. Earlier this week it came out that certain sequences in the game were using braindance segments which are well known to cause epileptic seizures. We’ve also covered how the developer was overworking its employees rather than delaying the game, inevitably, both ended up happening anyway. We also have a fantastic look at the appropriation of Asian culture in the title. And hell, if you just want more cyberpunk style games in your life, we have that too.
