Tower of the Rayne Syndicate Palworld Guide - How to Beat Zoe and Grizzbolt

How to defeat Zoe and Grizzbolt in Palworld and surpass the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate!

The Tower of the Rayne Syndicate is one of the first boss fight locations you’ll encounter in Palworld. This tower pits you against the fearsome Zoe and Grizzbolt, who have quickly become iconic enemies of the Palworld game.

But where do you find the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate, and how do you defeat Zoe and Grizzbolt? The tower and its inhabitants are not hard to find but will require some preparation, but those going in knowing what they're up against will have a much easier time clearing the content.

Finding the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate in Palworld

Although you should find the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate as you explore, if you’re struggling, we’ve got you covered. You can find the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate in the west of Plateau of Beginnings, in between the Desolate Church and Fort Ruins, after you’ve passed the Grassy Behemoth hills. Once you’ve found the Tower, it’s time to prepare for your fight.

One of the first bosses in Palworld you’ll encounter are Zoe and Grizzbolt. Zoe, an alternative-fashion icon, and Grizzbolt, a giant Electric Type Pal, are not too formidable, but you won’t be able to rush this boss, which has over 20k health and plenty of hard-hitting attacks.

First, we’d recommend being at least level 12 for this boss fight, although level 10 might be able to defeat it with enough skill. Gear-wise, make sure you have at least a Cloth Outfit and a Common Shield. A Three Shot Bow and a Fire Bow make for easy damage. Make sure you have around 100 Arrows and around 20-30 Fire Arrows.

Next, consider Grizzbolt’s type weakness. As an Electric Type Pal, it is weak to Ground Type attacks. That means utilizing Pals with Ground Type attacks will make the boss significantly easier. A Pal like Cremis, who learns Sand Blast before level 10, or Gumoss who learns it from the start will be immensely helpful in this fight.

Cattiva is also a perfect Pal because of Punch Flurry. Hitting multiple times and for high damage, Cattiva was able to whittle down Grizzbolt easily while you pepper them with arrows.

We’d also recommend any Pal you have an offensive Pal Gear ability with. Something like Lifmonk or Foxparks will be able to deliver heavy damage in a short burst, which will help whittle down the boss.

Once you get into the battle, it’s a case of keeping your distance and dodging attacks. Grizzbolt will alternate between close range attacks and long range attacks. His short range attacks include an area of affect shock that will temporarily paralyze you, and a series of jumping attacks. The latter is one of his most dangerous, and you’ll need to use sprinting and dodge rolls to avoid it.

Range attacks include a slow-moving seeking attack that will shock you on impact, a series of electric blasts, and a red laser lock on. Break line of sight on the lock on to avoid it. In general, you’ll want to put the pillars at the side of the arena between you and Grizzbolt to avoid its attacks.

Keep a Pal out and attacking at all times to keep the attention (aggro) off you, and use your ranged weapon to whittle them down. You want to be relying on your Pals for the heavy damage, you’re just there for support and dodging.

Use Fire Arrows to set Grizzbolt on fire, and then use your Three Shot Bow for DPS. Melee attacks are largely ineffective and dangerous in this fight. Grizzbolt and Zoe seemingly take more damage if you hit Zoe, so focus your fire on her when possible. If you’re struggling, go level up, or find some more Ground type Pals. Hopefully, you’ll succeed and unlock the Ancient Technology points as a reward.
