It’s a good year to be a Pokemon fan. With Pokemon Legends: Arceus already released and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet coming out in just a few months, there are more Pokemon games than we know what to do with. While the formers release wasn’t a mainline title, this fall’s will be, and with it comes something everyone is always happy to see: more Pokemon. One of those is a Pikachu look-alike called Pawmi who, according to Nintendo, is one of the primary Pokemon of your friend/rival Nemona. In this guide, we’ll share everything we know about Pawmi including its stats, abilities, fun factoids, what we know about its evolution (if it has any), and what strengths and weaknesses it has.
Pawmi Pokemon Info
- Category: Mouse Pokemon
- Type: Electric
- Height: 1’0″
- Weight: 5.5 lbs
- Ability: Static / Natural Cure
- Static: Any move that causes contact with Pawmi has a 30% chance of paralyzing the attacking Pokemon. Moves that hit more than once will trigger this chance each time.
- Natural Cure: Pawmi is automatically healed from any status conditions when swapped out or when battle ends.
Electricity-Discharging Organs on Its Forepaws
In addition to the electric sacs in its cheeks, Pawmi has electricity-discharging organs on its forepaws. It generates electricity by rubbing its cheeks, then it shocks its opponents by touching them with the pads on its forepaws.
Thick Fur That Stores Electricity
Not only is the fur that covers its body good insulation against the cold, but it also serves the purpose of storing electricity. When it feels uneasy, this cautious Pokemon will begin rubbing its cheeks, preparing itself to discharge an electric shock.
Pawmi Weaknesses
As an electric type Pokemon, Pawmi has the following weaknesses:
- Takes 2x damage from Ground type moves.
Pawmi Strengths
As an electric type Pokemon, Pawmi has the following strengths:
- Takes half as much damage from Electric, Flying, and Steel moves.
Does Pawmi Have an Evolution?
Possibly! It’s too early to know just yet. Only eight new Pokemon have been revealed alongside the 30 or so returning which have been featured in trailers. Pawmi is clearly similar to Pikachu, even more so than previous Pikachu-likes, as this one even shares the Mouse Pokemon category with it. It’s entirely possible that it could also share the Lightning Stone evolution requirement.
Easily the biggest addition to the latest mainline Pokemon game is multiplayer gameplay. Game Freak posted a blog further explaining Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s co-op saying: “Along with series staples, such as trading and battling Pokemon, you will be able to explore the various locations of the region in these games with other players. You can discover new Pokemon and explore unfamiliar areas with your friends and family, opening the door to an adventure more precious and fun than ever!” Now you and your friends can party up to hunt down the last few Pokemon for your Pokedex!
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are the collective second Pokemon RPG to launch in 2022, with Pokemon Legends: Arceus having come out on Switch back in January. For more on that, check out Fanbyte’s review.
