For the past several years, Niantic has opted to celebrate the Pokemon series' anniversary each February through an event known as the Pokemon GO Tour, placing a spotlight on one specific region from the series and all of its intricacies. This time around, the mobile title is celebrating the Sinnoh region, complete with the myths and legends that have persisted since the region was known as Hisui.
This event is split into two parts: an in-person ticketed experience held in Los Angeles, as well as a global celebration on February 24 and 25 where all players can participate whether they purchase a ticket or not. Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh not only welcomes the Origin Formes of Dialga and Palkia into the game, but allows players two days' worth of opportunities to locate and catch other Legendary Pokemon from the Sinnoh region. This includes rare species that normally only inhabit certain parts of the world, a handful of Pokemon that called the oldest version of Sinnoh home.
As always, a special event ticket will be available for purchase from the in-game shop for $5 that gives players access to event exclusive Masterwork Research—a special type of permanent research that requires players to complete more intricate tasks for lavish rewards—this time eventually bringing players to encounter Shiny Shaymin (Land Forme). However, there will not be any other bonuses locked behind purchasable tickets, meaning all players will be able to enjoy Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh to its fullest.
Here's a look at everything this year's Pokemon GO Tour global experience has to offer, from the massive amount of Pokemon players can encounter, to the generous bonuses they will get for simply playing the game.

Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh Bonuses
During the entire duration of the event, players will have access to half Egg-hatching distance, a halved cost of Stardust for trades, and be able to complete special trades—which often feature Legendary or Shiny Pokémon—up to six times per day. With the Egg pools also being changed for Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh, players will have ample opportunity to complete their Sinnoh and Hisui Pokedexes.
Players will also notice that, in the background of the overworld, a familiar Sinnoh tune will be playing. This extends into wild encounters and Raids, where a new rendition of the Sinnoh wild Pokemon theme will debut, bringing nostalgia to players that heard it first in Pokemon Diamond or Pearl—or even those that remember it more recently from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Legends: Arceus.
Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh Encounters
Niantic is once more incentivizing two-day play for this year's Pokemon GO Tour with the return of habitats, serving as themed biomes that rotate every hour offering a different array of encounterable Pokemon in the overworld. Two of these habitats will focus primarily on Pokemon from the Sinnoh region, while the other two are known as space-time anomalies, giving players the opportunity to encounter Pokemon from Hisui.
Joining the game with these habitats are four new costumed Pikachu, each wearing the hat of the main characters from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl as well as Pokemon Legends: Arceus. All of these Pokemon have a low chance to be Shiny as well, some of which could not appear Shiny prior.
Here's a breakdown of the four habitats, what time they'll appear, and what Pokemon can be found within them:

Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh Updated Egg Pool
The two-day event will also be altering the Egg pool to solely include Pokemon that first appeared in the Sinnoh region and Hisuian variants—including Pokemon that can normally only be found in certain parts of the world like Pachirisu, Chatot, and Carnivine. All Eggs obtained during the event duration will only feature these Pokemon, with the Egg pool returning to normal following Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh's global conclusion.
All Eggs incubated during the two-day period will also have the distance required to hatch halved as part of the event's bonuses, encouraging players to hatch as many Eggs as they can to add rare Pokemon to their collections.
- 2km Eggs: Budew, Chingling, Bonsly, Mime Jr., Happiny, Munchlax, Riolu, Mantyke
- 5km Eggs: Hisuian Voltorb, Hisuian Swilfish, Stunky, Gible

Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh Raids
Pokemon from the Sinnoh and Hisui regions will similarly be taking over all of Pokemon GO's Raids during Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh, also rotating with the different habitats each hour. This will not only give players the opportunity to catch the Legendary Pokemon Dialga and Palkia in their Origin Formes, but also some rare Hisuian Pokemon that they may have missed during their respective Raid Days.
- One-star Raids (Bustling Boardwalk and Toxic Digs)
- Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup

Depending on the path that players choose during the Road to Sinnoh event, the Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia that they encounter in Raids may be guaranteed to have their signature moves Roar of Time and Spacial Rend—thus unlocking the ability to use their new Adventure Effects.

Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh Routes and Party Play Event
Niantic is further incentivizing players to go out and enjoy Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh with friends by offering new event-themed bonuses to those that partake in the Routes feature, which involves players following a premade path created by others in the community where they can encounter rare Pokemon and find exclusive items like Zygarde Cells. By following a Route during the event duration, players will be able to find a White-Striped Basculin for the first time in Pokemon GO, though it is currently unable to evolve into Basculegion.
Teaming up with friends in the Party Play feature will also reap even more rewards than usual, including a set of challenges that will lead players to the Legendary Pokemon Regigigas. These challenges will no longer be accessible once Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh ends.
