Pokemon GO Weather Week 2024 Event - All Bonuses, Encounters, and Raids

Take in the beauty of nature with some Pokemon known to be drawn to weather changes.

Another seasonal change is upon us, welcoming sunlight and showers of rain to the Northern Hemisphere and crisp, chilly winds to the Southern Hemisphere. Pokemon GO is planning to celebrate the shift March brings with another iteration of its annual Weather Week event, highlighting the many types of weather that places around the world will be experiencing over the next several months.

This event, set to take place from March 14 to March 28, will focus on a number of Pokemon that are related to the weather in some way, including one that is capable of manipulating weather conditions on its own: Castform. These Pokemon will appear more frequently within the overworld, Raids, and upon completing Field Research tasks, with there also being another Collection Challenge that will require players to brave the forces of nature for certain Pokemon.

Players will only have a few days to partake in the Weather Week event before these conditions subside, so take the time to discover what bonuses and rare Pokemon are waiting.

Castform is a small, spherical Pokemon with binocular-like eyes and a small piece of hair on its head.

Pokemon GO Weather Week 2024 Event Bonuses

All players can enjoy double catch Stardust upon catching any Pokemon throughout the duration of Weather Week. This includes not only those accompanying the event in the overworld, Raids, and research tasks, but also encounters that can be created by the player, such as Meltan and Gimmighoul.

Catching Pokemon with weather boosts that match the current conditions will award players with even more Stardust, thus creating a perfect opportunity to grind the currency further using a Star Piece. However, it does not seem that Niantic will be manipulating in-game weather conditions to allow for players to expand the amount of Pokemon they can discover, with the feature continuing to be tied to real-world weather.

Additionally, Castform—which will appear aplenty in all of its forms throughout the event—will receive a slight increase to its Shiny odds for each form. These odds will return to normal upon the conclusion of Weather Week, so be sure to check each Castform in your surroundings to see if you can add its rare colorations to your collection.

A new Collection Challenge will be available that requires players to catch a number of the Pokemon with increased spawn rates for the Weather Week event, awarding players with Stardust and an Incense for completion. PokeStop Showcases are also being incentivized once more—which is particularly useful following the change to the system that rewards an encounter with Pikachu Ph.D after winning 100 Showcases.

Pokemon GO Weather Week 2024 Event Encounters

Certain Pokemon will only appear depending on the weather conditions in-game, including Lotad in rainy weather, Snover in the snow, Roggenrola when it's partly cloudy, Spritzee when it's cloudy, Swablu when it's windy, and Gastly when it's foggy. Due to the differences in weather in each part of the world, not all players will be able to encounter each of these Pokemon. The current weather conditions, as well as the types that receive those weather boosts, can be viewed at any time in the top right corner of the screen.

Meanwhile, Paras, Lickitung, Drifloon, Helioptile, and Amaura will spawn regardless of the weather. Castform, despite being the centerpiece of Weather Week, will only appear upon completing Field Research tasks, where players can discover it in its normal, Rainy, Snowy, or Sunny Forms, as well as a chance to find the aforementioned Pokemon experiencing increased spawns at all times.

Amaura is a tiny brachiosaurus with a blue body, blue eyes, a blue diamond on its side, and large, bright flaps above its eyes.

Pokemon GO Weather Week 2024 Event Raids

Raids will feature the most diverse array of Pokemon during the Weather Week event, including the Mega Evolution of a Pokemon known to create Sandstorms upon simply stepping into battle. This will also serve as yet another opportunity for players to add Drampa to their collections, as the Pokemon debuted earlier this year and has remained elusive since.

Just like during the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event, the featured Raids are almost all one-star and three-star difficulty. This shouldn't deter players from partaking in them, however, as the World of Wonders season rewards players with an extra Raid Pass each day as well as extra experience for completing these lower-difficulty Raids. Five-star and Mega Raids will yield standard XP amounts.

  • One-star Raids: Poliwhirl, Gastly, Hippopotas, Amaura
  • Three-star Raids: Charizard, Lickitung, Drampa
  • Five-star Raids: Regice
  • Mega Raids: Mega Tyranitar
Mega Tyranitar has three spikes sticking out of both sides of its body, with the spikes on its head also growing upwards. These spikes also envelop its tail.
