The latest 1.6 update for Stardew Valley has introduced an exciting array of updates, with one of the highlights being the new Summer Squash crop. This addition, among several other crops, brings fresh content for players to explore. For those eager to learn about acquiring and cultivating Summer Squash, this guide offers comprehensive insights into the process.
This guide is a work in progress and is actively being updated.
How To Obtain Summer Squash in Stardew Valley
Similar to the Broccoli in Stardew Valley, you can’t obtain the Summer Squash through normal means such as purchasing them from one of the many vendors in the game. Instead, you have to find them in artifact sites and grass tufts.
This can mean that it may take a while for you to get a decent amount of Summer Squash seeds to have a full patch of the plant growing, but you can also put a mature Summer Squash into the Seed Machine to get more seeds out of them.

Summer Squash Growth Time
The Summer Squash takes 6 days to grow and continues to produce after harvest. The crop will produce more crops every three days after maturity. This crop has to be grown in the Summertime.
If you have Remix Bundles turned on, you may find that you need to grow a Summer Squash in order to turn it in to complete the crops bundle.

Summer Squash Uses
As with most crops, you can consume them, or put them in a Keg, or turn them into some form of Jelly for artisanal purposes. The Summer Squash can give you a decent amount of health and energy return if you consume it, making it a helpful crop to have to hand if you are doing energy-depleting tasks.
Quality | Energy | Health |
Normal | 63 | 28 |
Silver | 88 | 29 |
Gold | 113 | 50 |
Iridium | 163 | 73 |
As you can see, the energy return for Summer Squash is pretty good, but you won't get much out of it in terms of health. When it comes to selling the Summer Squash, you won't really get that much gold from it. However, you may find that you get a better price if you use it in an Artisanal way.
Quality | Sell Price |
Normal | 45 Gold |
Silver | 56 Gold |
Gold | 67 Gold |
Iridium | 90 Gold |
As we find out more information about these crops, this guide will be updated to replicate the information that you will need about the Summer Squash in Stardew Valley.
