If you’re new to Warframe, you may have seen a frame dashing around from enemy to enemy, eliminating each with a melee execution. As someone who’s fully leveled Ash Prime, I can attest that the feeling is great. The Ash Warframe is fantastic at low level missions since it allows you to execute large numbers of enemies with one quick animation. But how do you get Ash? And what about Ash Prime? Our Warframe Ash guide has all the details!

Warframe Ash Abilities
Shuriken: Launches a spinning blade of pain, dealing high damage and impaling enemies to walls.
Smoke Screen: Drops a smoke bomb that stuns enemies and obscures their vision, rendering ash invisible for a short time.
Teleport: Ash teleports towards the target, bringing him into melee range and making enemies vulnerable to finishers.
Blade Storm: Ash goes on a rampage, teleporting to and destroying nearby enemies.
How to Unlock the Ash Warframe
Ash is a pretty basic frame, so chance are you’ll just stumble into a complete blueprint set before too long. All three of the component blueprints are dropped by Grineer Manics. A few of these foes spawn in each Grineer mission though they usually only appear if the level alarm goes off. That includes Excavation and Survival where the alarms go off from the start.
Here are the crafting requirements:
Main Blueprint
This build takes 72 hours to complete or can be rushed for 50 Platinum.
- Ash Frame: 25,000 Credits, 1 Ash Neuroptics, 1 Ash Chassis, 1 Ash Systems, 1 Orokin Cells
Secondary Blueprints
The Neuroptics and all of the other secondary parts of Ash take 12 hours to complete. They can also be rushed for 25 Platinum. All three of these must be completed before the main blueprint can be constructed.
- Neuroptics Blueprint: 15,000 Credits, 150 Alloy Plate, 1 Neural Sensor, 150 Polymer Bundle, 500 Rubedo
- Chassis Blueprint: 15,000 Credits, 1 Morphics, 1,000 Ferrite, 300 Rubedo
- Systems Blueprint: 15,000 Credits, 1 Control Module, 1 Morphics, 500 Salvage, 500 Plastids
Warframe Ash Farming Tips
Thankfully, getting the actual blueprints is the easy part. We recommend just playing the game and you’ll get the Ash blueprints eventually. If you’re impatient, however, just grind Grineer Survival missions until you’ve got all of them!
Any Grineer Manic has a 33% chance of dropping a blueprint. When that does happen the Chassis and Neuroptics both have around a 40% chance of dropping while the Systems are down at 20%. If you’re lucky, you should be able to get all three after around 20 Manic kills.

How to Unlock Ash Prime
Sadly you can’t unlock Ash Prime right now. It’s been sealed away in the Prime Vault since May 2017. From time to time Digital Extremes does an unvaulting event, bringing frames, weapons, and sentinels back for a limited time. The developer does this about twice a year and the next event will not have Ash Prime.
In general, Prime blueprints drop from relics which you find in missions. Wukong Prime, for example, drops from Lith W1, Meso K2, Neo S12, and Axi G2 relics. Some blueprints are rarer drops than others so you’ll need varying numbers of each relics. It also helps to do a relic share with others while the vault is opened. That way you’re more likely to get the piece you need since you can choose to keep any drop from the squad.
Don’t worry about stockpiling relics, however. What’s inside relics never changes. You’ll need to grind all-new relics once the unvaulting happens.
