Modern Warfare 3 offers a plethora of attachments, many of which are virtually identical, making the gun customization process quite perplexing. Looking up class setups online can be clouded by tons of clickbait and low-effort junk. However, if you seek well-researched and performance-proven class setups from a genuine Call of Duty connoisseur, you've come to the right spot! This guide will delve into the optimal loadout and attachments for the JAK Jawbreaker in 6v6 maps.
Best JAK Jawbreaker Conversion Kit Build & Attachments
Welcome to Week 2 of Season 3 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3! The brand-new JAK Jawbreaker Conversion Kit has arrived for the KV Broadside, a Shotgun carried forward from Modern Warfare 2! Here's what we're going to cover:
- How the Conversion Kit works
- In-Depth Stats
- Recommended Class Setup
- Fastest way to unlock

The JAK Jawbreaker “converts this shotgun into a hard-hitting, automatic battle rifle” – and that description is very true! The conversion stays true with many Battle Rifle norms: Small base magazine, slow handling and mobility, high recoil, but of course: high damage and range. The JAK Jawbreaker has an unlimited Damage Range, able to score a 3-shot, 280ms TTK anywhere in the body over any distance! 280ms is a very good time to kill in Modern Warfare 3, and being able to always score that fast TTK with absolutely no regard to shot placement is a very convincing argument for its use! However, similar to Season 3’s new FJX Horus, this shiny new weapon and its overpowered-sounding lethality is carefully balanced: The JAK Jawbreaker is almost irreparably inaccurate.
Even with the strongest recoil control attachments, you will always have some degree of horizontal variation dancing along your jagged, jumpy recoil plot. Additionally, your aggression is kept in check by the magazine size: only 20 rounds with no option for a larger magazine. I’ve prepared and carefully tested a build designed to mitigate the recoil as much as possible while keeping respectable handling. With the JAK Jawbreaker, you don’t need to perfectly accurate – you only need to hit three times, and this build will empower you to do that with ease. Let’s review the attachments:
- Conversion Kit: JAK Jawbreaker
- Muzzle: JAK BFB
- Laser: Accu-Shot 5MW Laser
- Optic: JAK Glassless Optic
- Rear Grip: Demo-X2 Grip

Base | New | Base | New | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Range | ∞ | ∞ | Total Recoil | 82.22° | 46.41° |
ADS | 240 ms | 258 ms | FAS / AIS* | 0 / 0 | +1 / 0 |
Sprint to Fire | 204 ms | 230 ms | Movement | 4.2 m/s | 4.2 m/s |
Strafe | 2.5 m/s | 2.0 m/s | Sprint | 5.3 m/s | 5.3 m/s |
*Firing Aim Stability & Aiming Idle Sway
The JAK BFB is the biggest, beefiest form of recoil control. It slows you to a crawl, but it packs several attachments’ worth of recoil control and is absolutely necessary for this weapon to be controllable in any sense of the word. The Bruen Pivot Vertical Grip (with some of the best vertical recoil reduction in the entire game) sounds like a logical choice for this gun, but it does worsen the problematic horizontal recoil and your other selections for recoil need to not make anything worse. As such, the Demo-X2 Rear Grip improves all three dimensions of recoil as a completely penalty-free option, considering that the Aiming Idle Sway penalty is fully countered by the Accu-Shot 5MW Laser.
To take down targets at long range, you need to master the rhythmic pace of firing at exactly the right time after a recenter – fast, but not fully-automatic. The Accu-Shot 5MW Laser’s Stability bonus assists not only with your close-range engagements by speeding up your ADS time, it also assists with distance shots by providing a sizeable Stability bonus. Finally, the JAK Glassless Optic is added to clear up your sights and make them just that tiny bit less shaky.
Fastest Way to Unlock the JAK Jawbreaker Conversion Kit
The KV Broadside is an (unsurprisingly) Recommended Weapon this week, so take that and a Recommended Battle Rifle Speed Cola and Napalm Burst. By drinking the Speed Cola ASAP and applying Napalm Burst to your KV Broadside, you’ll be able to finish all 5 of these challenges and unlock the JAK Jawbreaker Conversion Kit in just one Zombies deployment! We will target the following five Week 2 challenges:
- 200 Fire Damage Kills with a Shotgun
- 200 Hipfire Kills with a Recommended Shotgun
- 10 Kills with a Recommended Shotgun without taking damage 30 times
- 500 Kills with a Recommended Battle Rifle while Speed Cola is active
- 5 Mimic Kills with a Recommended Weapon
As soon as you deploy, race to the nearest Tier 1 Outlast Contract. Even if you have Tier 2 or 3 Aetherium Crystals, you’ll want to stick to a Tier 1 Contract because it will be the easiest, safest way to farm the 10 kills without taking damage 30 times challenge. Make sure to fire from the hip, and as soon as you finish the three Shotgun challenges, swap over to your Recommended Battle Rifle ASAP to farm out those 500 kills! You should still have enough time to race around to Infected Strongholds and Bounty Contracts in search of Mimics before exfil – remember that Infected Strongholds in the Tier 2 zone is the best way to find Mimics, though you should be able to find a few in the open world.
Here's a lightning fast KV Broadside Hipfire loadout:
- Verdant Hook Cylindrical Laser
- VLK Stockless (Stock)
- Dashbolt 60 (Bolt)
- 25 Shell Drum (Magazine)
- Bruen Bastion Angled Grip (Underbarrel).
The Recommended Battle Rifles in Week 2 are only the SOA Subverter and Sidewinder.

Our Testing Process: What does "Mathematically Optimized" mean?
It means that I have personally conducted over 30 hours of dedicated testing across the entire MW2 & 3 attachment set, endlessly consulted high-quality external resources and databases, and tirelessly tested performance across separate attachment combinations to produce what I believe to be the optimal build of a weapon for a specific purpose. Weapons are carefully crafted considering every possible detail - attempting to deliver the mathematically best possible performance in every category - mobility, handling, recoil, range, and accuracy.
With my builds, I believe you should see creative, never-before-seen uses of attachments that create incredible weapons. Do keep in mind that these weapons will not do the work for you - while they have all been precision-crafted to reduce horizontal recoil as much as possible, some of them still have quite noticeable vertical recoil, and it is on you to manage that vertical recoil correctly. I sincerely hope you enjoy reading about this build and every other build I have to offer on Fanbyte!
DISCLAIMER: If you test these in the Firing Range, please note that the Firing Range is currently glitched and shows more visual recoil and different damage performance than actually experienced in-game; it is best that you test these in a custom match or online.
