Warlord’s Ruin is the latest dungeon in Destiny 2, and as is the case with dungeons, it has collectibles for players to find. These collectibles allow players to hear lore recordings that further the story of Warlord’s Ruin. Players can find Ahamkara Bones hidden throughout the dungeon, but unlike other dungeons, accessing these Ahamkara Bones comes at a price — which is to be expected with the Ahamkara.
How to Find Hidden Ahamkara Bones
Ahamkara bones are hidden behind doors that require up to three different strengths of spells to unlock them. Players can only unlock these doors after finishing the first step of the “In the Shadow of the Mountain” quest, which requires players to conquer the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon. Doing so will reveal the first Corrupted Ahamkara bone, called Bones of Hefnd, and collecting this Ahamkara bone checks off the second step of the quest.
Gradually, players can gain access to these hidden doors. Each step gives players one strength of the spell needed to open these doors. It is important to note that opening all doors of the dungeon will require multiple completions of the dungeon. Even after doing so, players won’t be able to open doors in the order of their appearance in the dungeon since some doors require a stronger spell.
Where Players Can Find Ahamkara Bones
Here’s a detailed guide on where players can find Ahamkara bones in the dungeon from the very start of the dungeon to the end, and each door's Taken Corruption Spell requirement. Under each location we listed how it corresponds to the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
Ahamkara Bone Location #1
The first bone for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The very first Ahamkara Bone can be found right next to the chest that drops the loot from the final encounter of the dungeon. Finding this bone will allow players to unlock the rest of the bones for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
Ahamkara Bone Location #2
The second bone for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The second Ahamkara bone is at the very first hidden door in the dungeon. This door is right inside the castle after the wooden bridge in the opening section, Windswept Crag.
In front of the entrance is a tunnel that will lead players directly to a hidden door that has the Ahamkara bone. This door requires players to be able to dispel Level 1 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #3
The third bone for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The third Ahamkara bone is hidden in the maze section, Kingsbane Rampart, after escaping the prison cell after the first encounter. Once players get to the first opening in the ceiling, jump into it. Upon reaching the upper level, the hidden door can be found after the first right turn.
Be careful though, as there is a spike trap before you turn right so be sure to jump over the trap. This door requires players to dispel Level 1 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #4
Chronologically the fourth, but it's actually the fifth for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The fourth Ahamkara bone is also in the Kingsbane Rampart maze after going through an opening in the wall. This opening is in between the walls of a castle and leads to a brand-new room. Upon entering the room, take the first right to see a spike trap on the right side of the wall.
Avoid it by sticking to the left and taking the first left turn after the trap. Doing so will reveal the door hiding this bone at the end of the hallway, but once again, there are traps on the way to the door so be mindful of them. This door requires players to dispel Level 2 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #5
Chronologically the fifth, but it's actually the eighth for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The fifth Ahamkara bone is the final bone tucked away in the Kingsbane Rampart maze after going down the stairs and running through the pathway behind the room with the trap chests. This leads players to another opening in the ceiling. Jumping up to it reveals a door with two flags on each side of it. Going through it and taking a left will reveal a tunnel with a hole in the floor.
Jump over the hole and go to the end of the tunnel to find the hidden door on the right. This door requires players to be able to dispel Level 3 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #6
The sixth bone for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The sixth Ahamkara bone lies in the ruins right before the second encounter. They show up after players leave the maze in Kingsbane Rampart. Players will see a new castle across a large gap. Crossing the gap and turning right will reveal some snowy rocks on the mountain that the castle stands on.
Players can platform through these rocks to discover an escalating series of rocks on the left. Platforming through these rocks will reveal a sewer opening on the wall of the castle, where the hidden door hiding this bone can be found. This door requires players to dispel Level 2 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #7
The seventh bone for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The seventh Ahamkara bone can be found in the Blighted Keep after the second encounter in the dungeon. Upon crossing the room with several trap chests, progress further by platforming in a room filled with icicles and up some snowy rocks in a zigzag pattern across the walls of the cave until you reach a tunnel leading you to the exit.
At the end of the tunnel is a huge room where sunlight from the outside is starting to creep in. Going out of this cave on the right will lead players further into the dungeon. But instead of going there, look to the left to find an opening on the wall. Go through this opening and climb the stairs to find the hidden door hiding this bone on the immediate left. This door requires players to dispel Level 2 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #8
Chronologically the eighth, but it's actually the fourth for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The eighth Ahamkara bone can be found after leaving the exit mentioned earlier in the Blighted Keep and doing some platforming.
During this platforming section, a yellow-bar Screeb that drops Dark Ether Tincture will show up so be ready for it if you’re still looking for those tinctures. After climbing up the snowy platforms, there’s a door on the left next to rubble, which leads to a hidden door hiding this bone. This door requires players to dispel Level 1 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #9
The ninth bone for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The ninth Ahamkara bone can be found inside the Blighted Keep in the room with the giant Taken Blight and floating rocks. Just before the end of this platforming section, there are some rocks leading down to a ledge on the wall opposite the giant Blight.
Climb down the floating rocks and get to the ledge, where an opening will reveal a hidden door hiding this bone. This door requires players to be able to dispel Level 3 Taken Corruption.
Ahamkara Bone Location #10
The tenth bone for the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest.
The tenth and final Ahamkara bone can be found in the second snowy platforming section in the Blighted Keep, right before the final encounter. This section is at the mountain where a medium-sized Taken blight is floating in the middle with floaty rocks scattered around it.
Right across from where players enter this section, there is an opening in the mountain. Going to this opening will reveal a tunnel, at the end of which is the final hidden door with an Ahamkara bone. This door requires players to dispel Level 3 Taken Corruption.
What Players Get for Finding The Ahamkara Bones
Upon finding all ten Ahamkara bones, players will complete the “Heed the Whispers, O Vengeance Mine” triumph for the dungeon and the Wrathbearer title. This triumph also increases the chances of dropping the dungeon Exotic, Buried Bloodline.
