How to Obtain
You’ll be able to get the Waking Vigil after completing Dreaming City activities. These include the Blind Well, the Shattered Throne dungeon, Ascendant Challenge chests, and Season of the Wish activities.
About Waking Vigil
Waking Vigil is a Legendary Energy hand cannon that has the Adaptive Frame archetype. This means that it has a reliable, sturdy, and well-rounded grip, improving ADS. It also possesses the Advanced Reflexes origin trait that grants mobility, handling, and charge rate bonuses after taking damage, aiming down sights, or guarding quickly.
Waking Vigil PVE God Roll
For PVE, we have the Smallbore barrel and the High-Caliber Rounds magazine. The Smallbore increases your stability and range while High-Caliber Rounds further increases your range. Since the weapon can deal with multiple enemies at once, Rapid Hit is a great way to reward your rapid precision damage with stability and reload speed bonuses. Finally, after you defeat a target and reload, Voltshot overcharges the Waking Vigil, which causes the next hit to trigger Jolt.

Waking Vigil PVP God Roll
Stability and range are both important for hand cannons in PVP, therefore Smallbore is important — though Ricochet Rounds further increases both stats. Perpetual Motion grants the Waking Vigil some stability, handling, and reload speed bonus whenever Guardians stay in motion, which turns it into a great PVP trait. Not only that, Opening Shot will increase your chances of survival by improving the accuracy and range of the first shot of your attack, making both traits, Perpetual Motion and Opening Shot, complement each other perfectly.
