Lore

Each passing moment is marked by the click of an analog timer on the wall.

When the pressure gauge reaches 100 percent, the timer releases a final click and the airlock doors grind open in the hangar bay. Lord Saladin tucks his helmet under his arm and marches inside. He is met by banners of blue and white ringing the walls, each bearing the crest of the Caiatl's empire, the Cabal Ascendancy.

A pair of blue-armored Phalanxes greet Saladin at the entrance with raised rifles, but the Iron Lord strides past without a glance. The Phalanxes slowly lower their rifles and turn toward a heavily armored Valus approaching from the other side of the hangar.

"You come alone?" Valus Or'ohk bellows, reaching up to wrench his helmet off. A pressurized hiss escapes as the environmental seal breaks. "You are bold, Commander."

"Lord," Saladin corrects as he closes the distance between them. "My title is Iron Lord."

Valus Or'ohk comes to a stop, looking down at Saladin with narrowed eyes. "Iron Lord Saladin," he tests the unfamiliar words with gnashing teeth. "You are bold."

"I'm not here for flattery or your formal processions," Saladin rebukes, now within arm's reach of the Valus. Saladin looks up at him, unafraid, undeterred. "How do you want to do this?"

The Valus locks eyes with Saladin, then snorts loudly and rumbles with appreciative laughter. "I have a war room," he says in a more conversational tone. No more boasts, no more chest-beating. "We are tracking the movements of Hive ships in the vicinity of the Mars anomaly."

"There have been developments in the Dreaming City regarding Xivu Arath you should be aware of," Saladin replies. "Lead the way."

Peacebond is tied to Iron Banner, which is a week-long event that frequently appears throughout the season. You can earn the Peacebond after completing Iron Banner matches, finishing the third step of the For the War to Come quest, and turning in Iron Banner tokens. Keep in mind, the Peacebond will only appear in your loot pool and as an Iron Banner package reward after you finish the third step of the quest. These are the only ways to earn this weapon, so if you want a Peacebond be ready to hop into some matches this week. Progress towards your quest will also carry to the next time Iron Banner arrives this season.

Peacebond God Rolls

Peacebond PVP God Roll

  • Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Rangefinder
  • Harmony or Snapshot Sights

Normally we’d start with PVE, but this weapon will mainly be used in PVP thanks to its terrific stats and archetype. Considered by many to already be the best sidearm available right now, the Peacebond is supremely deadly if you can control the recoil and land your shots. To achieve this we are going all-in on range, ensuring we can mitigate any damage fall off. You’ll want both Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds, which gives us a total range boost of +20!

Adding even more to our long-distance killing potential is our first primary perk, Rangefinder. Sure, it’s not as flashy as other perks, but it is extremely useful for a normally close-range weapon like Peacebond. In the second primary slot, I am recommending Snapshot Sights or Harmony. The former just allows us to ADS faster, giving us the edge in one-on-one duals. As for Harmony, this is perfect for those who like to use their special weapon a lot as it can give us a hearty damage boost whenever we get a kill with another gun and then swap to Peacebond. Headstone is also a viable option, but only if you are planning to run a Stasis crystal build, otherwise, it’s not terribly useful.

Destiny 2 Forge's Pledge God Roll

Peacebond PVE God Roll

  • Hammer-Forged Rifling or Arrowhead Brake
  • Tactical Mag
  • Subsistence
  • Swashbuckler or Demolitionist

For PVE, I recommend either Hammer-Forged Rifling or Arrowhead Brake for the barrel slot. Which one you pick comes down to personal preference. If you want increased range go with Hammer-Forged Rifling, while Arrowhead Brake give you far superior recoil control. You’ll also want Tactical Mag to give you more ammo in the clip and an increased reload speed. Alternatively, you can also run Appended Mag, which is solely just an increase to your magazine size.

In the first column, there are a few good choices, but I have really been liking Subsistence. With the recent changes to the perk combined with infinite primary ammo, Subsistence has quickly become one of the best PVE perks in the game. It also synergizes beautifully with both Swashbuckler and Demolitionist. Similar to our barrel perk, which one you rock is entirely down to personal preference. Swashbuckler is just a nice damage-boosting perk, while Demolitionist is perfect for those who favor a more utilitarian option. Just like in our PVP roll, Headstone is also a solid option if you are making a Stasis build.
