A moment of silence, please, for the Menagerie chest glitch in Destiny 2. We all knew it was on its way out, but it still hurts. That said, I’ve already got a Rampage/Snapshot Austringer, so I’m basically good. And anyway, onwards and upwards — there’s lots of new stuff to cover this week. In their infinite wisdom, Bungie has decided to kick off two different very similar-sounding Destiny 2 events on the same day. Let’s dig in!
More Destiny 2:
- Destiny 2 Heroic Menagerie Guide
- We Need to Talk About the Opulent Armor Lore in Destiny 2
- Destiny 2 Spoils of War Guide
Destiny 2 Weekly Reset
With another weekly reset comes the regular rotation of activities:
- This week’s Flashpoint is on Io
- Nightfalls are Warden of Nothing, The Arms Dealer, and Will of the Thousands
- The weekly Singe element is Solar
- The featured Crucible playlist is Mayhem (woo!)
- The Dreaming City curse is in phase two of three
- The Menagerie boss is Pagouri, Vex Hydra
Destiny 2 Update 2.5.1.1
The newest patch is up, mostly addressing bugfixes — most notably, of course, the Menagerie Chest glitch. However, Bungie has also rebalanced Clan XP rewards and added some to activities that didn’t previously grant them. You can read the full patch notes for all the details.
Destiny 2 Moments of Triumph
It’s time to celebrate year two of Destiny 2 by completing a whole mess of achievements and getting stuff for doing them. Guardians who complete Moments of Triumph from now until the end of August can unlock various cosmetic items like an emblem, a ship, and even a new title and seal. Our Destiny 2 Moments of Triumph Guide has all the information you need.
Destiny 2 Bad Juju and Tribute Hall are Live
I didn’t play the first Destiny, but the apparently-beloved Bad Juju is back in Destiny 2 this week. It’s tied to the new Tribute Hall area, a space built by Emperor Calus to honor and catalog our many achievements. Head over to the Emperor’s Barge on Nessus and open the chest behind Werner-99 to get started. From there, you’ll want to use our Destiny 2 Pest Control Guide to complete all the steps to unlocking this returning favorite.
Destiny 2 Ascendant Challenge: July 9, 2019
This Ascendant Challenge is found in the Spine of Keres section of the map. Head towards the Oracle by leaving the initial spawn location and hanging a left at the massive door that leads to the Blind Well. Follow the cliff pathway all the way around until you reach a bridge. This leads to the Oracle location.
Once on the bridge, face right and look towards the open area. If you’ve become ascendant (by drinking the Tincture of Queensfoil) an invisible platform should appear before you. Hop onto it to reveal another platform — then another and another. Follow the platforms until you reach solid ground. Traverse the islands until you find the portal on the right-hand side of this new area.
Inside the challenge, you basically just have to climb. The challenge here is to not fall while the Taken try to deter you with boop-walls (swirling holes that periodically blast you off) or bomb blights. Just traverse the area slowly but surely, making your way to the top.
Once at the top, jump into the hole in the ceiling. You’ll encounter a Taken Phalanx boss. Kill it to finish the challenge.
