FFXIV 6.58 Patch Notes Promise Increased Lynx Flute Drops, Easier Gear Improvement

Time to min-max that item level ahead of Dawntrail!

Final Fantasy XIV’s 6.58 Patch has arrived, and with it a shortlist of changes to balance the game, improve quality of life, and get players ready for the launch of Dawntrail. Released on March 19, with the notes dropping a few hours before on the official Lodestone site, the 6.58 patch is mainly about easier ways to increase item levels and clear content.

The biggest changes are coming to Pandæmonium: Anabaseios and how Divine Solvent is obtained. These are the typical end-of-expansion changes, heralding players' last chance to improve their gear ahead of Dawntrail.

Trust in these NPCs

Beyond just raids, Trusts are getting an update to make it more likely the Scions will hit level cap before the start of Dawntrail. As a result, the experience gained by Trust NPCs in the following Dungeons has been raised:

  • The Tower of Zot
  • The Tower of Babil
  • Vanaspati
  • Ktisis Hyperboreia
  • The Aitiascope

Leveling Trust NPCs through Dungeons is a bit of a grind, and hopefully with these changes it won’t be so much of a chore. After all, with Dawntrail on the horizon, you’ll need to push those NPCs to level 100.

Strength of the Echo granted in Pandæmonium: Anabaseios (Savage) increased.

The Echo will now increase players maximum HP, damage delt, and healing potency by 15%. On top of these, there’s no longer a restriction on receiving Unsung Blades of Anabaseios from Anabaseios: The Twelfth Circle. Essentially, the raid is now in the most easily clearable state it’s been until the level cap is increased later this year.

Lynx of Abyssal Grief Flute drop-rate increased

It’s getting close to the time where diligent players will have completed their set of Lynx mounts, and as a result, the Lynx of Abyssal Grief Flute from the Abyssal Fracture (Extreme) has had its drop-rate increased. The Abyssal Fracture (Extreme) has also been moved from the Raid Finder to the Duty Finder, so expect plenty more mount farming party-finders to start cropping up. The Lynx of Abyssal Grief Flute can also be purchased in exchange for 99 Voidvessel Totems from Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.6 Y: 10.0).

No more limits for treasure on Thaleia Alliance Raid

As is usual for the end of an expansion, you can now trade three of the Alliance Raid coins for an upgrade item for your tomestone gear. In this case, trading an Aglaia Coin, a Euphrosyne Coin, and a Thaleia Coin to Nesvaaz, in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.6 Y: 10.0) will secure you a Divine Solvent. To make this process even simpler, the weekly limit on Thaleia coins has been removed, and for those grinding the Alliance Raid Gear, the weekly limit on rewards from treasure coffers has been removed.

PvP changes and the end of Crystalline Conflict Season Ten

PvP has had some tweaks, mainly for the Paladin, who has once again had their numbers changed. The main victim of the nerfs are the jobs Holy Sheltron, and to make up for this, Paladin’s damage dealing abilities have all been buffed. Dancer has also had some minor nerfs.

Beyond this, Crystalline Conflict Season Ten has come to a close and Season Eleven will begin. Players will begin Season Eleven five risers lower than the rank at which they finished Season Ten. Rising Stars will be reset to zero. Tier rewards for Season Ten must be claimed before the end of Season Eleven.
