Updates are fairly consistent in Final Fantasy XIV, and since the last patch landed players have been waiting to know when the 6.55 patch is coming to the game. During FFXIV's Tokyo Fan Fest they have finally announced the date, giving players something to look forward to in the coming weeks.
Although Dawntrail was the main star of FFXIV Tokyo Fan Fest, where information was revealed regarding the new limited job Beastmaster, a new magical ranged job, Pictomancer, as well as the new eight-player raid, The Arcadion, more was shared with the public. When it comes to patch 6.55, it is scheduled to be released on Jan. 16. Unfortunately for players, a 24-hour maintenance is also scheduled ahead of this patch.

Since Patch 6.5, titled Growing Light, was announced, some contents have been confirmed to be implemented in 6.55 only. One of them is the new Hildibrand Adventures quests, along with the Endwalker Relic Weapons. Called Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures, these missions are the next step in Hildibrand's investigation of Pupu's missing companion. The new Manderville Weapons tier is also coming in patch 6.55 and they are likely related to Hildibrand quests as they have been in previous updates.
With FFXIV Patch 6.55, players will learn more about the success of Tataru's boutique and the new projects about her business in Tataru's Grand Endeavor. More content that is coming with this patch includes the Endwalker Tribal Alliance Quests, in which players will go through a new series of quests where all the tribes come together to host a big event at the end of the universe. No information regarding what ranking players need to be with each tribe to unlock these quests has been shared, but they will likely need to be maxed out in order to take on the quests.
