Silex is an FFXIV crafting material gathered by the Miner class, a Disciple of the Land. A pure white sand made up of finely ground silica. It’s primarily used by Alchemists to create Clear Glass Lens and Crystal Glass.
You can find the material within Level 30 Rocky Outcrops east of Forgotten Springs in the Sagolii Desert (X: 22.3, Y: 29.7) in Southern Thanalan. Before you can acquire the resource from the node, you must first unlock the Miner class. Then you need to be at least Level 26 before you can tap these nodes and acquire this material.
