If you’ve ever thought about switching platforms in Final Fantasy XIV between PlayStation, PC, or Mac, now may be your best opportunity as the game goes on 60% sale for the next few weeks. News of the sale was revealed on the early morning of March 27, announcing a sale on digital copies of FFXIV on three platforms.
From Monday, March 25, until Monday, April 8, Windows and Mac versions of FFXIV will be on sale on the Square Enix Store and Mog Station. Then, from Wednesday, March 27, until Wednesday, April 10, FFXIV will be on sale in the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
The offer includes the FFXIV Complete Edition, Complete Collector's Edition, Endwalker Standard Edition, and Endwalker Collector's Edition. During the sale, the Final Fantasy XIV Complete Edition is on sale for $23.99, the FFXIV Complete Collector's Edition is $55.99, Endwalker's Standard Edition is $15.99 and its Collector's Edition is $23.99.

As a result, this could be the best time to buy if you’ve thought about switching to a different platform to play FFXIV. For those who’ve never done it before, you can switch between PlayStation, PC and Mac editions, you’ll just need to own a “license” for each platform. This discount will make that hurt your wallet a little less.
The 60% sale matches the discount Steam customers were able to claim earlier in March, meaning these platforms won’t miss out. Even new Xbox players are currently able to get the FFXIV Starter Edition for free on Game Pass, although as previously reported, that might not be the best deal.
Square Enix is clearly keen to push new players to dive into FFXIV at this opportune time. The company revealed the release date of the next FFXIV expansion, Dawntrail, at PAX East. For existing players, the game has been crammed full of events and reasons to keep playing.
Still, maybe FFXIV doesn’t actually need more promotion, given that pre-orders for FFXIV: Dawntrail actually crashed the Square Enix Store for several hours. The next expansion for the company’s premiere MMO has retained all of the hype of the previous two instalments. Come July, the company may find themselves with more players than they can handle.
