Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is officially live and it’s time to roll for initiative! Set in the Borderlands equivalent of Dungeons & Dragons, players will join explosive aficionado Tiny Tina and her crew in a game of Bunkers and Badasses. While this title retains the same shooter-looter design of the core entries, it embraces a medieval setting that constantly changes under the whims of your Bunker-Master.
Once you beat the main campaign, you will gain access to the endgame content of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Dubbed the “Chaos Chamber,” this activity sees players battling their way through encounters of randomized enemies until they reach the final boss. Drawing inspiration from dungeon crawlers and roguelites such as Hades, players will be able to receive temporary buffs, complete secondary objectives, and earn a currency that can be used to obtain more loot at the end. Tying all this together are Chaos Levels, which not only dictate the difficulty of enemies but also the quality of loot you will receive.
Here’s how to increase your Chaos Level so you can build a better you:
How to Increase Your Chaos Level
To raise your Chaos Level, head to the Chaos Chamber in the Brighthoof castle and speak to the Dragon Lord. You will be presented with a few different types of runs like Normal, Feature, Extended, and Chaos Trial. Select Chaos Trial and successfully complete the activity without being sent back to the Chaos Chamber. You don’t need to complete every secondary objective — just make it to the end of the trial and slay the final boss. Once you emerge from the last portal, approach the Dragon Lord and you should have the option to raise your Chaos Level from 0 to 1.
This can be a little finicky at times, as I needed to complete the Chaos Trial twice to get my Chaos Level from 0 to 1 when it should have only taken one attempt. After that, for every time you want to raise your chaos level, you need to complete a Chaos Trial on your current highest Chaos Level. This means that if you want to hit Chaos Level 6, you’ll need to beat a Chaos Trial at Level 5 first. At the time of writing this, the Chaos Level cap is set at 20. It’s worth noting that enemies will deal more damage and have more health whenever you raise your chaos level. Because of this, you’ll want to ensure that you properly gear up before heading in.
If you want to increase your Chaos Level for the Overworld or side quests, go back to Brighthoof once you’ve unlocked Chaos Level 1 to get the new Chaos Mode tab. From here, you can increase, decrease, or disable Chaos Levels entirely. This will let you farm for better gear even without doing dungeon runs and allow you to enjoy Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands‘ weird and wacky side quests. You can also see the percentage increases that each Chaos Level brings, which can be nice if you’re trying to tune your build.
Doing so may take multiple Chaos Chamber loot runs since you’re relying on RNG to give you not only a good roll of an item but also for it to be of a high rarity. While you should strive to increase your Chaos Level, it’s more important you start crafting a build for your Fatemaker. Focus on experimenting with different skills and weapons, as this will help you in higher-tier Chaos Trials when enemies hit for a comical amount. You’ll also want to increase your Mythical Rank since those extra stat bonuses can make a huge difference for specific builds.
