Where's Xur in Destiny 2? - October 18, 2019

This week, you’ll find our main man (?) Xur on Nessus, standing on Calus’s barge. Does Calus know he’s there? Is he okay with it? Can he even do anything about it? Regardless.

This week, you can grab the following from him:

  • Telesto: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Shards of Galanor: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Dunemarchers: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Transversive Steps: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
  • Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards

It’s worth noting that Exotic armor now rolls with one of three different Elemental types, as well as a variable number of total stat points. We’ll tell you both of those in the listings below. I’ll also give you my thoughts of the viability of each piece of gear, but if you have the Legendary Shards to spend then it’s always a good idea to buy anything you don’t already have. Gotta fill out those Collections!

Telesto

Oh boy, Telesto. An Exotic Void Fusion Rifle, Telesto fires sticky needles that cause a delayed explosion. You can have a lot of fun with it in the Iron Banner, but it’s honestly useful in pretty much any situation, PVE or PVP. And now that Loaded Question has been cut down by the Lunafaction Boots nerf, Telesto is once again an excellent Gambit choice for quickly wiping out adds. It’s one of my favorite Exotics in the game, and you should definitely get it.

Shards of Galanor

One of the “super refunding” Exotics, Shard of Galanor has been hit pretty hard recently. The idea is that it returns super energy when you get kills with the Hunter Blade Barrage super ability. But like all other Exotics in its class, it’s been nerfed quite a bit to make it less dominant. It’s still useable, but it’s certainly not the most exciting Hunter Exotic. Love Blade Barrage and want to cast it as much as possible? Grab it. This instance of the Shards is Solar elemental and has a stat total of 48.

Dunemarchers

Dunemarchers make your Titan go faster — the science is still out on whether or not applying a red shader increases the effect. Additionally, the Dunemarchers will also cause your melee attacks to chain to nearby enemies after a sprint. Titan melee is so in right now, so it’s worth giving these a shot. This set of Dunemarchers is Arc elemental and has a stat total of 50.

Transversive Steps

There’s a theme this week, because Transversive Steps are another Exotic boot gear that increase sprint speed — this time for Warlocks. They have the side benefit of reloading Energy weapons while you’re sprinting. Pairs well with an Energy shotgun in Crucible. These particular Transversive Steps are Arc elemental and have a stat total of 48.

Isochronal Engram

Xur’s Isochronal Engram now includes Year Two Exotics, so if you’re missing any of those you can grab this to fill out your collection.
