For what seems like such a small update, the world of Final Fantasy XIV will disappear for an entire day thanks to a 24 hour maintenance set to take place before Patch 6.55 drops.
Typically, patches like this one don't take more than a few hours to implement, but because of some hardware replacement that the Japanese servers are undergoing, the usually quick maintenance will instead have players waiting a whole day to access the last part of the Endwalker story.
Patch 6.55 brings several things with it that players can enjoy, including more Hildibrand quests, more Tataru side quests, and a new set of Manderville Relic Weapons, alongside some new MSQ which will carry players through to Dawntrail. Warriors of Light will finally get to meet the new female Hrothgar NPC Wuk Lamat, who will likely be the bridge between Endwalker and Dawntrail's stories.
Because the patch is a full 24 hours, players are currently preparing their characters before Monday in order to get them ready for when the patch goes live on Tuesday. For those trying to finish things up last minute, or for those wondering when they can access the game again, here is a list of time zones and what time the servers will shut down in each.
The times below list when the servers will go down on Jan. 15, and they will come back up at the same time, 24 hours later, on Jan. 16.
